Small correction: in Dark Moon it isn't the light that weakens the ghosts when the meter fills up and you hit A; it's like this weird little flash of electricity. I'd say that further strengthens my point though. A good ol' whack on the ground makes more immediate sense than some flashy shock thing that isn't clearly explained, and it's a heck of a lot more fun to watch.

I doubt this, Nintendo has proven that they are willing to make the main character models have high amounts of detail. Odyssey Mario's player model was a slightly less-poly version of his CG model, it still retained most of, if not all of the detail from the CG model.

They can make a floor where you have to constantly keep closing doors around the hallways. Then, the power goes out randomly during the floor. Then, you get a key once all the doors are closed, which opens up the final door which has the button for the elevator/lift and the reason as to why the power is going out. It's the treasure you get. I loved dark moon, stunning ghosts so I could get in position to hit like 2, 3, 4 at the same time and money just spills out of them. First game, check every item in the game and the coins go pling clink cling. The bills go fshshshshhhfhfhfhsshh. You grab a speedy spirit and it goes AAAAIIIIIIEEEEEEEEEEE and money explodes everywhere. Those secret treasure rooms? Ecstasy. Finding gems was so freaking satisfying.

LM3 doesn't look bad at all, in fact the style of graphics is perfect. Go and type "art deco" on google and you'll see. It's an architechtural movement, the 1st to be worldwide, that was very popular from 1925 when it started in paris, to 1944, just before the 2nd world war ended. So LM3 taking place in a 1930 hotel it's totally natural to have that look. The sharp lines are totally part of the style as well, and when well used it can make a building look pretty creepy, LM3 does that PERFECT. and i like the fact that the furniture isn't exactly symmetrical or perfectly horizontal, it adds to the creepiness and the goofiness of the game. I love the stylised 8 of the 8th floor of the hotel (cinema thing) above the lift arch 10/10 lugee's badass

A little detail I noticed about gooigi: Whenever Gooigi isn't being used it goes back into the poltergust which is the big green glowing thing on it, and from what i could see in some of the footage gooigi isn't around and yet the poltergust is empty so perhaps you do unlock it later. I know some of the footage might not match up to this but remember it's just an e3 build and I imagine they gave gooigi to the people playing just so they can test out all the abilities reguardless if you would have or have not unlocked it in the real game by that point

I can see where you’re coming from with the backtracking thing with new abilities, but here’s how, I think it could be integrated well: Let’s say hypothetically that during a floor you have to chase a ghost or have some sort of objective that eventually leads to a hole or trap that drops you to the floor below. The room you land in is a secret room that leads out into a room you’ve already been through. Once you open up the room it will stay open. Then you could continue the story objective while also being able to completely change the way you could do puzzles and fight ghosts. Maybe you could even speed up the backtracking with new abilities that allow you to do said puzzles backwards. Stuff like this in a few floors could change up the gameplay and make each floor more memorable not only because of the theme but also because they also change up the overall structure of progressing while still not forcing upon you the boring side of backtracking. Sorry for rambling a bit, I just really love Luigi’s Mansion and have a near infinite supply of ideas to share.

Hey Arlo you said that you get all of your abbilities right of the start but you can see if you collect the pultergust there is no green slime in it and in other scenes there is also no slime in the pultergust so that means no gooigi at the begining of the game. The one thing that concerns me is that from the treehouse story footage the only hotel like thing is the elevator. And I was excited for that but I can't see it in the beginning of the game. Edit: update I just realised that the treehouse gameplay and E3 demo gameplay is from some random part of the game

Also, I'm glad that Scarescraper has its second chance. Scarescraper on the 3DS was hilariously buggy. The 7th floor was basically cursed -- you'd get really bizarre glitches, Luigis getting stuck in furniture or even between walls.

Interesting. When I played Dark Moon’s Scarescraper, I didn’t have any issues except the occasional frame drop.
