really appreciate detailed tips. remove via the bottom and install from the top ( on post intercooler side). Also, side note the 07 models have a clip on the driver side, you have to use a band saw blade to cut it off to pull it out the bottom. subscribed amigo

When I Dremeled out that hot side it took me SIX rotary wheels to do it. They kept either breaking right away or they wore right down to nothing. But I finally got it! Now that cold side OEM pipe won't come out of there and I think I'm gonna try to cut that old pipe with a Cut off wheel. If I can. It Nuts trying to get it out!

If you remove the radiator fan you can reach the hot side from the top.

Yes, you most definitely can. My idea here was to avoid taking out extra pieces. And one of them was the radiator. Taking out the radiator was looking like to much work to me 😂

Stock pipes were you getting low boost 30ff with intercooler upgrade is that why you upgraded piping? Getting 30ff since I went stage 1+ with new fmic
@CrazyCarMods4 жыл бұрын
Well, I actually decided to upgrade my intercooler piping at the same time as the intercooler to have better flow and to minimize extra work. Have you tried doing a smoke test? I have noticed that when the clamps are not really tight, boost can leak through there, specifically if you have an upgraded chargepipe. Double check your connections, that has to be where your leak is.

Okay so great video thank you for making it and the great job you did!! However on your intercooler pipe on the drivers side I see that you had the little clip that normally clips onto the rubber stopper type nub to hold it solidly in place removed. Did you do that or was that already gone on yours? Because to get that crazy thing out of there is impossible with it on and removing that plastic clip while the pipe is in there is impossible. So I'm between a Clip and a very crazy place. I'm thinking I'll have to remover the whole fan and drain the coolant just to remove that stupid little pipe. Sigh... But thanks for the video. LOL. Edit: I GOT IT YAY!!! Thank you again bro you ROCK for this video!

Would this work with vrsf chargepipe . Having issues with arm intercooler popping off of cold side
@CrazyCarMods2 жыл бұрын
Yes that should work. The diameter should be just about the same as the ARM chargepipe. What kind of connection are you using on both ends? I used the ones that where provided with the intercooler and used the upgraded hoses. I did have to tighten hose a nice amount to make sure they didnt pop off under boost.

I believe they do, but I'm not 100% sure bro. I tried looking for the inter and out diameter of the intercooler itself but found no info. It helps with better flow from the intercooler to the chargepipe and its twice as big as the OEM. This can alleviate any restrictions this section has. It makes the system a little more efficient.

Do you notice the difference in HP from installing your intercooler and pipe upgrades?
@CrazyCarMods3 жыл бұрын
With the downpipes yes, you can feel the difference and with the intercooler a little bit. But most of the big difference is going to be in the tune with those 2 mods. With the tune and those mods is actually a hell of a difference.
@420glence3 жыл бұрын
I have downpipe charge pipe with bov and dual cones installed. I bought the inter cooler and the upgraded pipes and been sitting on them for a while. The problem is that I stay in California and I need to get my car smoged so i don’t want my car to get flagged. I was thinking MHD tune but I don’t know if that would be an issue. Overall thanks brotha you always come thru and reply!
@CrazyCarMods3 жыл бұрын
No prob bro. I also had lots of questions in the beginning, so its always good to help out. With the tune there would be no issue, since you can tune it back to stock, it would take you 2mins. For the Intercooler there shouldn't be any issue either (unless they are an ass about it to visually inspect it) with the downpipes That can be an issue since thats truly what they are testing for. Here in Florida we don't have emissions, but back in the day I used to know a shop that would pass you with another car after failing inspection with your car. They would just take the same paper you got rejected with and go with another car. (Just food for thought, don't get any ideas) 😂
@CrazyCarMods3 жыл бұрын
Oh and for the chargepipe you should be good unless they visually inspect it. It make no difference when it comes to emissions.
@420glence3 жыл бұрын
Thanks brotha very helpful. I guess the tune was my main question. But over all I might just install the intercooler and the tune after the smog. Have a blessed day and again thank you 🙏🏽

What chargepipe did you have? My fitment to VRSF chargepipe was not as good.
@CrazyCarMods3 жыл бұрын
I used the Arm Motorsports charge pipe for the HKS Bov. What do you mean by the fitment wasn't as good? Is the vrsf chargepipe thinner?
@snivesz324 жыл бұрын
In what measurable way would you call it an upgrade? Because, increasing the volume of your intake piping will actually slow spool up. The reason for larger diameter hoses is to lower the air speed of the charge, so that would imply this hose was the highest airspeed in the system, but that’s not true, it’s the turbo compressor outlet that has the highest air speed. So I don’t know what the purpose of this pipe is?
@CrazyCarMods4 жыл бұрын
What I believe you mean is pressure drop. But that wont be the case here. This 2 pipes are connected to both sides of the intercooler and will replace your OEM pieces. On the hot side (short hose) our OEM connectors have an accordion type in them, which will cause turbulence and its not optimal for air flow. On the hot side our OEM pipes also don't have the best flow either which will cause turbulence in the air flow as well. This upgraded hoses will correct and optimize the air flow for better performance. For instance port and polishing is a small change to a piece of the pathway of incoming air, yet it can have its great benefits. In here by replacing this part you will optimize the flow dramatically. When it comes to the diameter or increase in size, this hoses will give you a better less restrictive pathway. Also the reason why you may want to replace the OEM connectors to something like this is because you are planning on increasing the performance of your car as well, rather than just replacing it on its own. Once your car is tuned for better performance, you will be pushing more pressure (increasing the psi). The most common performance increase is FBO stage 2 which will increase boost to 18psi. That's more than twice the pressure from OEM, and our OEM intercooler hoses are not optimized for this.
@snivesz324 жыл бұрын
Crazy Car Mods, Thanks for the explanation. No, I meant what i said but i’ll expand the thought. Back pressure in a closed system is a result of air flow reaching sonic velocity near mach 1.0. If you have a system of various sized tubes it’s the smallest tube that creates the restriction in the whole system. The stock turbo outlet diameter is 1”, and two of them would be equivalent to a single pipe of dia 1.41”. So i’m saying it won’t be possible to increase the air velocity to higher than the turbo outlet velocity if there is not a pipe smaller than that in the system. Thus the compressor outlet is the restriction not these IC pipes. If you have bigger turbos with larger compressor outlets then it might make a small difference. Have you done a dyno of before and after?
@carlosplazas34774 жыл бұрын
👍
@huanweili76994 жыл бұрын
Why did you replace it for? If you did it to gain power, I can tell you that you just wasted your money. The stock pieces you just removed i still have on my N54 with an upgraded intercooler making 820whp on two upgraded Td04 19t turbos. The restricted area are the connection to and out of the turbos inlets and outlets.
@CrazyCarMods4 жыл бұрын
I got this hoses as a package deal, and as you know the better the flow and the less turbulence the more efficient it is. The only real way to test this out is to dyno the car and see if there is a difference. But I do think it is better than the oem stock pieces, and since its better flow, they can definitely increase the power output. Not a drastic amount but definitely a few horses.
