*Actually with his historical knowledge that could really go somewhere..* Imagine a WW2 game that's so realistic and the tactics were so accurate that you could experience how it felt being a *Panzer commander* and having to blow up your own tank because you've ran out of fuel? *MHnV* would know how far you made it from the depot down to the *kilometer*. xD Also cool to see 'straya doing some pretty impressive looking work.

Mission is jank with most objectives not completing when the task is finished. Hostage rescue where the hostage refuses to enter vehicals. Destroy the armored target with the sub task of locate. if you destroy the target and you have not located it yet the mission cannot complete. Lots of super annoying bugs.

You’re in single player I’m guessing? There’s no respawning in SP. Its just an Arma thing. Load up DA on a local host server, use the Inidbi2 mod for saving and then you can play solo with respawning.

Loving the look of this new WW2 variant of direct action and have been loving your other DA scenarios so far. However have you ever thought About making a direct action for the "there is only war" mod. Would love to play this With the warhammer mod.

Futuristic settings are always an issue. DA WW2 requires many different mods to have enough assets to build the factions. The further you go away from the themes that can use Arma 2 and Arma 3 based vehicles, the less original vehicle models you’re going to find. Finding good futuristic maps is really hard as well.

HC isn’t a feature of DA. In real life “Direct Action” missions are missions carried out by special forces teams to raid or disrupt the enemy. This mode was always designed for these small team operations. Performance is a big issue as well. HC squads essentially would dramatically affect performance in SP and local host servers.

It's really easy... DA itself is not a mod, it's a scenario. Basically a mission file. Just download it, and it will appear in scenarios. Mod presets are a HTML file that you can download from my discord (linked in the description). Drag and drop the downloaded file on to the ARMA 3 launcher and it will automatically download and setup the required mods. And that's it :)

@@BillyEatWorld So the mod presets are only if you are running mods, if not we dont need to download any presets? and other question is on the workshop do we need to download the maps separately (i presume other community maps) or are they bundled in eg. Direction Action | Omaha will have the Omaha map with it?

@@Daz30 So Direct Action WW2 requires you to use the WW2 preset. Many maps can be loaded up in vanilla though. As for the 5 DA WW2 maps though, 4/5 are mod maps... so even if you want to run vanilla you’ll still need to run the required mods for that map. They’re on the right on the steam workshop item for each map. There’s only 1 DA WW2 preset which works for all maps. The maps are all bundled into that. :)

I am new and just started on the Henderson Airfield Direct Action. How do I spawn in a vehicle despite just starting the game mode ? As the map and objectives are too big to swim from the carrier to them.

Use the flagpole to get in the landing craft with your squad. You'll get vehicles as you unlock enemy camps.

Kind of! DA is designed to be faster paced and should run better as well... there's a lot less to micromanage. It's more like Mike Force or Liberation.

Whats the fps like and how beefy of a server do you need to run it?

FPS should stay pretty high. You'll get drops below 60 in towns occasionally but ultimately that's just an ARMA 3 thing. You can run it no worries on a basic dedicated server. No headless clients required. Local hosted server runs okay as well. Definitely playable.

As long as Opposition SW insists on having ACE as a dependency, Star Wars is out. ACE doesn’t play nice with dynamic missions.

There are instruction on the workshop item, but hit me up on discord if you’re still having issues. Essentially you download the Inidbi2 - Official extension mod form steam, and load it up and that’s it. If it doesn’t put a save game file into the “db” folder inside @indibi2, move @inidbi2 to your Arma 3 root directory. It runs in the background and doesn’t save everything.. just objectives, mission level, unlocked factions, unlocked weapons etc.

@@neshoch3264 DA reconfigures itself based on what mods your running. Download the map you want, download the supported mod preset, load it up and it'll load up using those mods automatically. You have to use the supported presets though for 100% compatibility... check the description of the workshop item for the presets link.

@@neshoch3264 There used to be seperate mission files for USAF, but not anymore. As long as you use the correct preset you’re good to go with any map. The only limitation is WW2 is only supported on these 5 maps, OPTRE is only supported on the OPTRE map and Vietnam is only on Cam Lao Nam.

Fun mod but you ABSOLUTELY DO NEED SPEARHEAD 1944 TO PLAY IT!!! You can download a compatibility mod that lets you play without purchasing the actual DLC, but you'll still be unable to access a bunch of the vehicles and the game will keep prompting you to buy Spearhead, just like it does whenever you access content from a DLC that you don't own already. Yes, it's playable without Spearhead, but you really do need the DLC to enjoy it.

Go to the mod presets discord link in the description above and there are instructions. Basically, download the preset file, unload all current mods in the Arma 3 launcher, and either drag the preset file onto the launcher window or load it with the import button on the top right of the mods tab. 😀

Hey there, Really wanting to give this a try with some friends, but the dependency of IFA3_AIO_LITE seems to have put a wrench in that, since the mod is no longer listed on the workshop. Any advice or workarounds? Thanks! Also thanks for putting the work into these scenarios, they're a blast, and what keeps ArmA 3 fresh and replayable :)

As far as I know it’s still on steam, it’s just not visible. If you download the preset on the discord link it should download it when you import the preset. Alternatively you can download IFA from their website. Apparently it’s coming back to steam, so it’s only supposed to be a temporary thing.

Mod presets are easy. Just download preset file and drag in on to your ARMA 3 launcher and it'll auto set them up :)

The required mods are also "required items" for the workshop item, so if you click subscribe it should automatically download them anyway. I've taken the best assets from IFA3, Faces Of War and CSA38 (and there are also other small mods included to fill gaps). They all have their strengths and weaknesses. Hit me up on discord if you need help setting up the preset :)
