This video is fuckin old but I'm a noob and I have been experimenting with the editor. I love watching these battles I set up especially with mods. However I don't understand half the shit on the editor, only I place enemy units in cities with move or seek and destroy or guard orders and watch the thing play out. I usually use infantry because whenever I would place a vehicle full of infantrymen the truck would just sit there, same thing for the helicopters(Could be a mod issue),but weirdly enough the jet fighters take off and cause havoc among the enemy. My favorite battle to set up is ambushes so this video helped me a lot. Thank you.

Thanks a million. Just a question that I didn't get why did you make a "move" waypoint before "seek & destroy". Couldn't you connect the "seek&destroy" waypoint to the trigger?

After I put the bomb code it just detonated weather or not there is someone there :(

Make sure you put the code in the trigger 'on activation' field and not in the IED object itself.

Every time I press "activation" inside the trigger menu, nothing happens. I can't select what side to make the bomb go off. I've had this issue on two different computers and I have no clue why.

Could be an issue with the recent update to 64 bit executables. Possible solutions are to revert to previous build or use 32 bit.

What's the purpose of syncing the trigger to the IEDs? Isn't everything that's necessary already in the trigger's On Activation field?

I need more details, when you say immediately do you mean when the mission starts, or when you enter the trigger radius? Ensure the trigger radius is properly set up, and that the trigger is synced to the IED, and the trigger is set to activation blufor present.

If there is, it is a lot more involved then the 3d editor. I do not believe there is any way to have AI "hold fire" in zeus. Ares has the ability to execute scripts, but since you cant name items/units, you can activate the scripts like I do in this video. So, probably not.

On Zeus you canplace the IED or any other explosive and blow them up manually with the "End" key. It only works for the charges that are selected. So in this case, you could select the first charge (the one that blows the hunter) and blow it manually, and then select the other (the one that blows the hemmt) and blow them manually. Meanwhile you'd need to have the opfor AIs standing by close to the ambush site and then send them to attack.

The whole point of this is to not have to micro manage the whole event and ZEUS does not have a hold fire button like in 3d editor. So if the AI sees the convoy, they will engage it outside the ambush zone. So yes, you can jerry rig it using ZEUS, but 3d editor is way more powerful.

Hey there, I tried placing those Ambush groups but they seem to move immediately even before the trigger is activated, do you know how to solve that?

If they are moving without the trigger being activated the trigger is not properly connected to their waypoint or the trigger is activating without you knowing it. Double check to ensure the waypoint is synced to the trigger. Start small, for example the vehicle is alot easier to do because it is clear when it is moving as opposed to AI soldiers. Hope you resolve your problem.

Hey there, thanks for the response. Yep, it works for infantry, but for the vehicles, it just moves off straight away to the trigger point despite telling them to hold first until the trigger is activated.
