I just Got to Arma and been playing for a month so far, After I figured out you can make your own scenarios and custom Ai’s I told myself I need to learn how to use Zeus. How come when I go into Eden Editor, my player AI and other players' AI icons arent apparent. There's no way I can heal them or link groups to them. -(thanks in advance) UPDATE: I figured it out. I put a respawn point down, but when I die it ends the game and I have to load, or it takes me all the way back to Mission Editor. maybe I missed it but you didn't mention that your Arma is a modded version and not vanilla. For example without mods Zeus Enhanced and Eden enhanced all items are not editable straight up unless it's set in Eden (using Eden enhanced) or adding specific modules prior to loading the scenario.

Thanks for your comment! The modpack we use in our community only adds equipment and vehicles, no modules to Zeus. Make sure you enable all addons (including unofficial ones) when using the game master module! Lmk if it works!

Hey man, great tutorial, but are there any ways on how I can turn Zeus ai into players with full squad commands or be able to switch from ai to ai with one button, or anyway on how I can make helis land and assign objectives to ai, if there is a tutorial you have about that, that would be great. That makes things a bit complicated. Switching with 1 button is not possible, go into zeus and control the next. Kunnen Helis sometimes need a helipad, you can use the invisible helipad to make them an lz. Another option is using the simplex support mod, really nice mod. Assign objectives to AI? You can make them do all the stuff in the list (double click the way point) with varying levels of success. There may be mods/scenarios to play what you're looking for!

To gain access to all modules from mods you need to enable addons (including unofficial ones). Also, some settings may be disabled through options>configure>configure addons>drop down to ACE Zeus, for example.

Quick question, I know this is a little late but when I go into Zeus, the little icon beneath my character and/or any AI or players do not show. I was wondering why, and how I could fix this? It's not too big of a deal, but it's a little inconvenient when trying to provide support and whatnot for my pals when I am in Zeus.

You'll need to add them to editable objects. There's a module "update editable objects", or RMB if you have Zeus Enhanced and click add objects.

The only thing I would do differently is just try to let the AI use the arty themselves a zues deleting some recon pos with a 150mm howitzer isn't fair

Depending on how you go at it, the AI is very inconsistent in the use of artillery. Lambs does a decent job with check rounds and fire-for-effect firemissions, but a lot of the times I'd rather have control over what's happening than leave it to the AI. In the end there's no "fair" in my book, the Zeus is there to facilitate for the players, make a fun mission. Obviously deleting a recon team with a 155 is no fun.

Check if you have any mods loaded that could cause this. Also make sure you set up the game master module properly in Eden, enabling unofficial addons as well (although the AI tab should be base game). Let me know if you fixed it!

I think people often assume just because they don't get errors that they're getting the benefits of both mods (i.e. JSRS/Dynasound, etc), even though the mods are actually overwriting one another depending on where they are on the mod list.

Yes, use the Side Relations module, under Scenario Flow. They'll be hostile by default though.

okay, so i found out that you need something called ACE and ive seen many discussion on wheter you CAN or CAN't use this in public servers like EU#02 or EU#01 but no clear answer. Do you know if i can? and if i can, do the people on that server also need to have ace installed?

Hi! I play modded ARMA, public servers don't have mods. The server won't even let you in if you have any mods enabled. There's communities (like the one where I play) that have a list of mods they use, including the ones that give zeuses all those fancy modules making zeusing much better. If you like you can check out Sigma, see if it's something for you.

What if you press Y when in zeus? It should put you back in your unit. Try adding the unit to editable objects.

You can set it up so the host/admin can create zeus using the self interact menu from ACE. You should also be able to respawn and still have zeus, if you've set that up.

If you want players to control AI, you need to group the AI to the player. If that's not what you mean, try to explain.

My PC is a bit overkill for this game, running a Ryzen 5 3600 and RTX 3070. Some guys I play with use GTX 970's and a decent i5 processor. Depending on your specs you'll have to turn down some settings, especially view distance is a big one.

Most mods will need to be run by all players. There are some client side mods you could run in addition to those. Anything with units, weapons or vehicles definitely needs to be run by all.

Less steep of a learning curve for reforger, but in its current state its less capable than what we have in ARMA 3. Obviously, as its been modded for many years.

Hi, it could be that you haven't set your editable objects right in Eden, check under Attributes > General > Misc > Editable Objects (Zeus). @Art The Clown came with this in an earlier comment. Let me know if it works ;)

@@Xyrage bien, estuve probando, pero lo que mas resultado me dio (de acuerdo a lo que yo pretendia), fue pones un comando en el "init.sqf". Un bucle que agrega, cada 6 segundos, las unidades que se van generando. Lo que me gustaria saber es como limitar el control de Zeus sobre las unidades que no son del lado del jugador. Ya sea, single player o PvP. Tambien, pregunto, sera posible hacer que los iconos/marcadores (o como se llamen) de las unidades sean mas transparentes? Durante la partida, mas si es en una hora de poca luz, solo puedes ver una cantidad de circulos rojos, verdes o azules que ocultan por completo a las unidades. Visualmente resuce el juego a un table de fichas en un juego de mesa. Muchas gracias y una vez mas perdon por el idioma. Saludos

With the zeus enhanced mod you can ctrl+double lmb. Without you'll have to use the remote control module

Why you don't have an end-key? Because it's probably a compact keyboard without numpad. You could plug a keyboard into your laptop, that's what I used to do.

Make sure you have ace loaded, and are enabling all addons (including unofficial ones) for Zeus. Let me know if this worked.

Things to try; Add units to editable objects through the "edit editable objects" module. Restart the mission Restart ARMA Take a look at your mods, see what might be causing an issue. Lmk if and which one worked 😉

If I wanna play zeus with friends frrom eden editor, I have to "place" their playable characters in eden, because they can't join otherwise. But in this case I am somehow not able to "edit" them as a zeus master (I don't see their icons in the zeus interface). Is there a way to fix this?

It's a bug, you need to add then to the Editable Objects. If that doesn't work, check your settings about editing players.

Not sure, haven't had that issue myself, but it should be in the game settings/multiplayer settings or something like that.

Verify your gamefiles before reinstalling and see if that fixes it, I don't think it's that kind of an issue, however. Like I said though, haven't had the issue myself, so don't know the exact solution. Sorry buddy!

What is unclear? To delete units select with LMB or click-drag, then press Delete on the keyboard. End will kill/destroy the unit. Lmk if this helped!
