Thanks for being honest about the soft detail. Personally, I think it looks like 90s Revell in terms of molding technology. Put it next to a modern Takom or Gas Patch or MiniArt and it gets blown away. I've got plenty of stash to build while waiting for a better effort.

The cover art is correct. Some Airacobras earmarked for Tunisia were diverted to the South Pacific and arrived in Desert camo. Which was OK because the corals sands were almost that colour! The gondolas under the wings were a standard fit to the Q model and held 1x .50 cal, each.

New kit and already flash… by the time revell gets its hands on it, it will be more flash than sprues

This review seemed to be a bit sloppy. I mean, if you are wondering about the first camo option and colors, why not go through the instructions color callouts? As for the kit, I cannot see the value for the 42 euro price tag when the Eduard profipack P-39 is around 30.

Compared to their 1/72 stuff and the 1/48 scale Hurricane this kit is a real disappointment. Poor detail and fitting. I can’t understand the backward step Arma Hobby have taken, hopefully it’s just a blip from them. And yes, I am building it at the moment.

@@tomspettel3646 so far the front air intakes on the wings cause a poor fit between upper and lower wings, I’m still trying to sort that. A dry fit of the fuselage half’s are ‘woolly’. The plastic as a whole seems thin and flimsy. Now I’m comparing this to their previous stellar releases hence the slight disappointment in this release. If I had looked at the kit without knowing the manufacturer I would have said it’s a decent Revell issue and not an Arma Hobby kit. However I am building the kit and I will still bang on about his good their other kits are and I can only say this is a slight misstep and not a calamity. At the risk of high jacking Phil Florys channel I will be doing a build video on this kit if that’s of interest to you 👍
