As usual, a super interesting and thoughtful review. I really love your perspective(s) on various touring gear. I know it is super unlikely but I would love for you to do a review of the movement deathwish tours....or, barring that, your thoughts on them based on your experience. Im super interested in those for a powder ski but its a big investment (for me) and I have come to trust your (and Danny's) opinions about these things.

Extra extra mediocre skier here... I've been on the 104 Locator this season, 178cm and G3 ion 12 bindings with leashes. It's been a fantastic season and I love the lightweight setup. Skis do well on everything but inbounds ice and breakable crust. But what does? Nice to see the less common ski get some coverage! 👊

Would you recommend this as a 1 ski quiver for a trip to Hokkaido in late January/early Feb?

Solid choice. I took a DPS Powderworks tour 110 on the same trip last year and it was great. If I hadn’t picked up that ski I would have takes the armadas and it would have been awesome.

Do you think this is a ski to size up or down on? Im torn between the 177 or 180 length. Im 185 cm and 78 kg. Decent but no expert skier

That tall I feel like the 180 would be the choice. Anything shorter might feel too small. I’m 178cm and would not ski it shorter than 180cm.
