I think I understand him better after watching his scenes back to back… he feel for Louis, but Louis never gave the same back; always left him a bit uncertain - certainly didn’t consider him family (or coven), which became apparent in the scene between them before Madeleine was turned. The coven was already close to mutiny and Armand had to make a decision. He felt Louis didn’t love him like he did. Just another one feigning love, but not walking their talk - another one who would eventually leave him… so, Armand stuck to what he knew: The coven, the rules. Maybe he regretted that right after Madeleine’s revelation: that Louis DID love him too, but it was too late, the trap had been set. And when it all went horribly wrong, survival kicked in: Louis was willing to kill him too, and the coven treated Armand like shit anyway - so his best option was trying to win Louis back. Lestat could have ruined that, but didn’t for some reason. Armand got (half of) what he wanted: A companion with whom, at least more often than not, he felt somewhat loved. Man, I really hope Devil’s Minion plays out well. I kinda get him now. This man deserves someone who can truly love and appreciate him.

That's what I got too. The guy needs somebody that loves him as he is, fucked up and all. I think that's why despite how messed up Devil's Minion is from BOTH angles, there's such a strong air of love and compatibility from it. Daniel loved Armand as he was and so did Armand, flaws and all on both sides. It is macabre and endearing at the same time.

It's once again about who tells the story. Lestat was portrayed as the villain for season 1. In season 2 we got a different version of him (still not the accurate one but way better nonetheless). Season 2 we had Armand be the villain, with reveals that harmed other main characters. In season 3 we might get another version of him, hopefully with some stuff after San Francisco as well👀

I just want to understand Armand. What drove him crazy? Has he always been like that or did something happen that made him target Louis? Cos if some of these remembrance scenes are real then Armand felt something for Louis for sure so why the need to kill him, also being with him for 77 years? He could have just messed up Louis' mind and killed him. Sorry for the rant.

I asking the same questions in other movie and someone abswer me like that... Armand has painful life, loved Lestat but end not good.. So he love Louis but not Claudia.. And because he scared to lose he choince his coven over Louis.. That make sence if he broken inside.. He afraid been alone so lived with this lie.. Probobly he will save Louis but he never forgive him to not save Claudia so he choose died for Louis too..

I can atleast answer the crazy thing, bc yes it's his backstory. First book Armand is Ukrainian and named Andrei, he lives with his parents, his dad is I think a hunter. His parents love him a lot, they treat him great. Armand has an amazing painting talent, he is so good with painting religious icons, that his talent is seen as divine and him being a choosen one of God. He even gets commissions from churches. One time he travels with his dad to deliver a painting, where he is captured and separated from his dad. In the show, he's from Dehli and his parents sold him to slavers or so. Again book, he is sold to a brothel where he can't perform, brothel is I think in Florence, it's definitely Italy though. He gets severally beaten and doesn't leave the building. He also starts to starve myself to die faster. Those beatings make him unconscious regularly and he starts to forget things. The vampire Marius buys him of the brothel and takes him in. Marius has a school full of boys he saved. Armand is 15 when he's saved. He is renamed Amadeo, meaning "child of god" , Marius is fond of Armand and they have a relationship with eachother. At 17, Armand runs away with a dude to spite Marius, after that dude realises Armand played with him and will leave him, he slashes him with a poisoned blade. To save Armand, Marius turns him at 17, which he planned to do, just not so young. Marius teaches him the ways of vampire life. One day a satanic vampire gang attack Marius, burn the school and leave Marius to burn. They kidnap Armand and other boys. They starve Armand and beat him, force him to drain the boys he grew up with in that school, the goal is to covert him to their cause. Out of desperation he accepts. He is send to Paris to rule the satanic coven there, he needs to change his name and so he does. He rules for 200 years until Lestat arrives and gives them hell, he doesn't follow the laws and doesn't want to join the coven. Lestat, like others did before, destroys everything he ever believed in, so he splits with the coven and gets with Lestat to form the Theatre de Vampires, which he rules completely after Lestat leaves. Book Armand doesn't care for the coven or their plays. The reason he is after Louis is bc Lestat loves Louis, that's the reason he approaches Louis in the first place, he never planned so otherwise. Armand knew abt Louis and didnt care, until a wounded Lestat showed up begging to drink his blood, bc Louis and Claudia burned him. Armand takes him prisoner. He is in love with Louis though, but also sees him as someone who can get rid of his coven. So the trial happens, Armand attempts surgery of Claudia, her head on a woman's body, doesn't work, she dies. Louis kills the coven, they leave together and are a couple. After Claudia, Louis is depressed/numb and Armand can't take it longer. He is desperate to get any reaction from Louis, as much as he confessed he killed Claudia, Louis knows and doesn't care at this point, and even takes him to Lestat to get a reaction, doesn't work, so Armand leaves him. When the interview with Daniel happens, they aren't together for a long time. I won't spoil further.

I find it weird he wanted to kill him to, given in the book, Louis was the one and only one Armand gave a damn abt. This one is a different Armand, one that actually cares abt the coven, which he actually didn't do originally. He choose them, given they would choose him, Louis would prefer Claudia and Lestat over him, that's my theory. As I already got into depth, Armand needs company, and he got that with Louis. He did love him always, even show Armand did, I think that time changed things yk. I think I answered your questions more than enough, read "the Vampire Armand" for this whole backstory, also there's a great part abt him and Daniel in "Queen of the Damned", the topic of s3, which I won't spoil at all. Rant abt him favourite Vampire Chronicles character is over.😊

Armand is 500 years old and has the blood of Marius. How could Sam, even with a scythe, keep him from doing anything? He could just "freeze" or "rest" Sam.

​@@-_Mr.Smaker_- Claudia was already half mad and suicidal because she was stuck as a child and Armand considered the existence of a child vampire an atrocity that could only hurt Lestat and Louis in the future because the resentment Claudia felt towards them for her existence as a child Vampire would only grow until it drove her mad. Every single child vampire went mad eventually, which is why making them was one of the worst mistakes that would lead vampires everywhere to condemn the maker. Armand and Claudia tried various Frankenstein experiments to put her in another body that didn't work out, so eventually he burned her. She was not a pretty sight even before she burned, a child head on an adult mortal's body if I remember correctly. Claudia acted disrespectful and obnoxious around Armand because on some level she wanted him to end her existence.
