It’s weird, I found Armando’s music at a pretty pivotal time in my life. I was in a very lonely and depressed mental state at the time. I would come home from school most days and put this song on my tv. Then I’d plop face on the couch and just cry. I ended up making an attempt on my own life in the end of February. Fast forward to today, I’ve since had 3 hospitalizations and 6-8 months of individual and group therapy as well as support from loved ones near me. I can honestly say I have never felt more alive, happy, and, loved in my entire life. I still come back to this song every now and again, though, to remind me how far I‘ve come since then in spite of how hopeless everything all seemed to me at that time. Thank you Armando for inadvertently being there for me in a timely moment in my life. It means the world to me. If you’ve ever felt like this, just know this: help is always out there. Saudades is a portuguese word for missing someone, but it somehow feels stronger the word "miss" in english. It is a mix of nostalgia, sadness, sometimes it can be a happy feeling of longing, remembering... it's such a deep word and feeling that only portuguese speakers would know how to explain.
