Although this review is a bit old it was very helpful. I recently purchased GA LS & found your video searching for application techniques. I was matched to 3.5, light-med, olive at Sephora with their camera match tool. I’ve been *struggling* to make it work. Interestingly, while returning a dress at Nordstrom a Guerlain associate & I chatted & she suggested I try shade 5.5 in Armani LS. I stopped at Sephora & picked up samples of 5.2 & 5.5 & 5.5 was *SPOT ON*! The Guerlain associate also gave me a sample of the Healthy Glow Natural Perfection Foundation which I haven't tried yet. Sorry for my essay. Thank you again!

What lipstick are you using? It’s such a beautiful pink on you! I suspect I’m also a fair olive

I genuinely don’t recall but it could have been some mix of an old discontinued Colourpop satin lipstick :( I’ll keep in mind to post my lip combos though! I post more often on tiktok now @j0annepan ☺️

This is such a good review! I have the same foundation and I agree with all the things you mentioned. We definitely have similar skin! Are you using a new foundation right now? What’s the best foundation you’ve used recently? I checked your channel and got sad when there’s no new uploads.

thank you! I switch between the Dior forever matte or glow foundations, though I def need the LA girl mixers in blue and yellow for an accurate shade match. Currently going through a retinoid purge as I started using Adapalene so my skin is both oily and dry / flaky 🥲 in terms of the best foundation when I’m oily, I really like the Armani power fabric (got it at 50% off), the Dior forever matte, or Mac Studio fix. I’ve been posting more on tiktok @j0annepan ☺️ but I recently got a serious case of the flu so trying to be gentle with getting back into things

I am honestly back on the journey for the perfect foundation again, after the moonshot glassyfit cushion got discontinued 😭 that was one that I purchased 3x. Will be posting foundation try-ons reviews over the next few months as I try them out! Ones that I have upcoming are the About Face Performer foundation in the fair/light olive shades and the Armani Power Fabric ❤️

Loved how in-depth your review was! Can you also review Estée Lauder double wear and dior backstage and Clinique even better clinical serum?

I'm looking for a good, non- comedogenic foundation that is oil free. I'm a super oily lady, and by the end of my sometimes 14-hour workday, I look like a highlighter 😂 I just watched a video that said after my morning skincare apply my primer then my laura mercier translucent powder before my foundation. I just ordered a setting spray because they said to spray that before your primer. That's so many layers! Anyway, I currently use clinique even better clinical serum foundation, and I do really like it. I'm cool toned and use self tanner, so I need to have a good color match done also. Any suggestions?❤

I’m not as oily now, but when I had oilier skin the Estée Lauder double wear worked well. I also recommend to have max 3 prep steps before foundation, any more and your foundation starts breaking down faster and not sitting well. For me, that equates to a moisturizing toner, vit c serum, and then a sunscreen. Then apply a thin layer of foundation with a brush and set with a light dusting of the LM translucent powder. I actually prefer not using a setting spray. I’ve tried it and while it looks lovely, I’ve found that most ones marketed as setting are more like finishing sprays, which doesn’t extend the longevity of the wear for me. For days I need to have performance and am willing to sacrifice my skin quality, you can spray hairspray / setting spray on a makeup sponge and apply to your skin as a prep step before. You’ll have a mask-like feeling but the makeup will be staying on!
