While watching your video and looking at comments it occurred to me that older women past menopause face a real foundation dilemma. Some of us have wrinkles, dry skin, uneven skin texture and discoloration. Dewy moisturizing foundations tend to emphasize texture and they may not provide needed coverage. Yet most foundations with great coverage tend to make skin look dryer and emphasize wrinkles. Maybe you can address this issue sometime to help us older women make the best foundation choices. I found the regular L’Oréal Tru match in the pump bottle (not the Nude serum) gives me the best of both. Good satin coverage that can be built to medium full , lightweight, and blends on like a dream. There’s a good reason why it’s been around so long and liked by so many and good especially mid life thru mature skins.

Loreal is sp expensive where i am now it's bately worth it for me. 😢 especially when there's no testers. I'm usually great at finding my shade but in loreal I find there's a lot of pink. the Loreal tinted serum has the same base formula as the Valentino, which is owned by Loreal. Amazing drugstore foundation tbh, and the shades run neutral leaning olive which makes them super flexible despite being a limited range.

I had never tried Charlotte Tilbury products because of their price point. And now, after all the hype and reviews in the Elf Halo, I tried it. And I just know that if I had had tried the CT version, I would have somehow reasoned to buy it. But I am so glad I tried the Elf Halo first and love it. Nikki, Thank you for All that you do. As soon as I can afford, I am dying to get ur brushes. I’m 46 years old. I lost my daughter a couple of years ago and now empty nest -last child left home. I’m relearning who I am and learning self-care. I have been diagnosed with a rare serious spinal disease called Adhesive Arachnoiditis. I mention it because a) I have to depend on family and now suddenly after being so active in my life having to apply for disability. b) to raise awareness of this disease for women who have had any injuries, spinal surgeries, epidurals, injections. In saying all of that, I feel the need to try to practice some self-care. You and I have a similar skin tone and style. I so appreciate your knowledge and efforts to educate us on makeup, techniques and options. Idk if I’ve missed it, but could you please do a video on ur skincare routine and/or options. I have also had some slight “lagging” around nasolabial. Had quick weight gain from high steroids. I’ve lost most of it now but thinking fasting and juicing for abdominal distention still. I’m also leaning in category for skin of color. Native American grandparents but have European as well so I err caution on certain treatments, just in case as I have been informed sometimes strong vitamin c, certain acids and/or treatments can make hyperpigmentation worse

Can I jump in? I have tried and love the eyeshadow sticks from ELF, Bobby Brown, Laura Mercier, Beauty Pie, Merle Norman and have really found them all long tasting, extremely easy to use, and they do not crease on my oily and hooded lids. ELF was the only one that faded slightly near the end of a long day.

I may be the minority, but I actually prefer the Elf Halo Glow over the Charlotte Tilbury Flawless Filter. I was a 3.5 in CT and they did away with that shade, it is far too expensive to not have a perfect match. Also, the Elf is less glowy, more coverage --the lack of glow is really nice on my mature skin (60, Balanced). The problem with drugstore foundations is the shades. In the L’Oréal tru match there isn’t a shade close to my shade at all. I’m a light cool/neutral. Yet somehow there isn’t a shade.

Yes! I have this problem as well. I’m a light neutral undertone. The drugstore foundations are either too pink or too orange for me even if they say neutral. I used to buy multiple shades just to mix. I don’t do this anymore with high end foundations.

I'm 81 with dry sensitive skin. I've worn makeup for many years. I've found a lot of these problems are reduced by finding yourself a really good skin prep. Sometimes like today when I wasn't planning of being outside much I just used City Beauty primer with SPF25 and no foundation over the prep. Just play with layering and products that meet changes in your skin. If it doesn't work, it's removable. Hope this is helpful so you don't work as hard as I did to learn this.😊

I did buy the true nude after wearing tinted moisturizers for years. It is awesome. I have large pores that looked a slight bit more prominent with this foundation but a blurring primer in those small areas fixed it right up. Yes, it is messy, but I am in LOVE with the True Nude. Gorgeous!

I really appreciate videos like this from an expert like you. I mostly buy drugstore makeup. I’m in my 70s with dry winter skin and more combo summer skin. I alternate between the L’Oréal True Match Skin Foundation, the Nude Serum and Revlon’s Illuminance. Dior Forever Matte is my favorite foundation for special occasions. If it’s really humid or warm I’ll use Estée Lauder Doublewear. I recently learned that adding a bit of Dbl Wear to lighter or more moisturizing foundations helps to bump up their coverage & longevity. FYI, I replace makeup bottle droppers with cheap pumps I get on Amazon. However pumps can put out too much product & be messy. I prefer wands.

Great video! Armani luminous Silk is probably my favorite foundation. It's really difficult to find a good match for my olive complexion. No matter what I do Double Wear emphasizes my acne scarring in a way nothing has ever come close to. It's crazy because you look my skin tone until you hold up your arm 😂. Thank you for this video! In my pre-kid days, I used to not think twice about buying high-end and I would run through bottles Armani luminous silk foundation. Thanks so much for this Nikki, I have used Armarni Luminous Silk since it as invented... but after trying the Nude Match... I just feel it looks better as I am aging, I use medium and light mixed, depending on season, and buy when it is 50 % off in Australia...I get a lot of comments saying your skin (not my make up) looks amazing. This is magic to me.

I purchased the L'Oreal True Match Nude Hyaluronic Tinted Serum after watching your fabulous drugstore foundation video. I wear the True Match when my skin is craving an additional drink of water for my top layer over my layered serums, moisturizer and sunscreen. Yes, dry mature skin gal here. The sloppy dropper situation for the True Match was easily solved by getting replacement foundation pumps from Amazon for $6 or $7 for a set of four. The pump fits the True Match perfectly and works with most other foundation bottles too. The set I purchased has double protection because the pumps have a rotary switch and a removable cap collar. No more sloppy droppers for me!

One you might also be interested in trying is the L'Oreal Infallible PRO Glow Liquid foundation. It's really nice!. I have their Les Beige foundation (similar to NARS Radiance formula) but have not explored their other formulas because they are more expensive.
