Is the smell from these masks the adhesive that attaches the nosebar? I use the 9205 but I have a hard time believing that exposing the respiratory system to whatever is causing that smell is neutral to the wearer's long term health. Curious what chemicals are involved in causing that odor. Anyone know if 3M has ever answered?

Living up to it's reputation for sure. Just not so sure about the smell. Thank you for another great review.

For easy identification, the medical version and the consumer version of the Aura have different strap colors. The consumer version has blue straps. "As a surgical mask, it is designed to be fluid resistant to splash and spatter of blood and other infectious materials." I don't think the consumer version includes fluid resistance.

There's something so wrong about seeing an Aura on top of more than 2 days of stubble. Try passing an OSHA fit test and see what happens. (I used to have a beard until I got fit tested).

Stubble between a respirator seal and face is an $18,000 S&W fine by CalOSHA plus fines for inadequate training and a written program.
