I watch my 91 year old mother lose the love of her life 20 years ago, her siblings and all her friends because she’s outlived all these people who mattered in her life. Her youngest is dying of lung cancer. I’m thinking when it’s my time I will be okay and enjoy my time & hopefully leave my part of the world a little better. I think his regiment is so rigid I don’t understand how he stops to smell the earth before or after a rainfall or the beauty of raindrops on a rose petal etc. I do that & make sleep a priority, healthy eating & portions habits, exercise body & brain & I love my community. Bottom line if that brings him joy Que sera sera.

Metformin can lower your B12 levels that overtime could lead to anemia. This is easily compensated for with B12 supplements, which most people likely require already.

Check out the chapter in Malcolm Gladwell's book Outliers about the town of Roseto in PA. The story of the immigrants who lived long, healthy lives despite poor diets. He describes how physician Stewart Wolf discovered that the people of Roseto were remarkably healthy and had low rates of heart disease, despite not having particularly healthy diets or lifestyles. Wolf concluded that the secret to their health was not individual factors, but rather the strong community and family-oriented culture of the town. A healthy lifestyle is important but may not be the base of the longevity pyramid if there is such a thing. Even in blue zones you can see lifestyle is part of a community.

Hello from America, where the rest of the world is wondering, (including myself) why'd you elect this guy?? Vent your feelings and live longer :) But regarding Bryan Johnson and his lifestyle, he goes to extremes and beyond, IMO. Ninety supplements a day is insane. Many supplements are not approved by the FDA and have side effects. And like you mentioned, where is his time to enjoy life? Right now, this is what he enjoys, apparently. He's young and his body can tolerate what he's doing. As he ages, he will notice that the body changes with age, and he will need to accommodate that. I don't think there are too many people that would be willing or able to follow all that he does and incorporate it into their lifestyle. Diet and exercise and rest, yes, by all means, pay attention to these. Thanks for all the content you share. It's always interesting.

I think the media gives Brian a bad rap. The stuff he is doing is amazing. He eats the same thing nearly everyday to keep a extremely specific baseline nutrition wise so when he does testing they can properly measure them. We don't have to do everything thing Brian does, but he does a lot that everyone can learn from and do in their lives. He also provides full documentation on his website that everyone can access for free without a "login". Also remember - Brian didn't have any control over the documentary.
