Rad! I love these era-themed videos, and was on my way to the comments to state as much to no one in particular; the link is greatly appreciated. Also, that was an envy-inducing 3-shot group you so casually laid down on the cowboy, while expounding upon that lovely old Schofield. I need to use both hands to achieve that level of result!

Love the classic weapons, if any of you are gamers I suggest you take a look at Hunt: Showdown it's set around 1890's to early 1900's and has both the Springfield and Winchester in it.

Wouldn't a lever action carbine be a better choice in 1899? The trapdoor was out dated even in the late 1870s. One of the factors Custer lost Little Big Horn, was out dated trapdoors. The Boer War was 1898 and they were using Mausers and Enfields and Krags. Love your channel.

gamers would use bolt action rifle and navy revolver thats pretty much the meta loadout. i on the otherhand use the pump shotgun and schofield revolver but id replace the carbine repeater with the landcaster or carcano sniper because they have longer range and better rate of fire the repeater carbine is kinda trash and bullets wont reach long range they just vanish.

I really dig how you embrace the history of firearms on this channel. Other gun channels are good, but this and forgotten weapons take the cake, I really wish there were more gun channels like this. I honestly wouldn't mind a 50/50 history/guns split; the shooting is equally as great as the in depth explanations and history to me lol. not just explosions and shootings, I actually end up smarter

Only change I’ld make is the rifle, mine would be a Winchester 1886 lever in 45-70 (cut down the barrel, 16”, not illegal back then) and have at least two Schofields. Oh I forgot (old age) I did 😜. God Bless Texas 🤙🏼❤️🇺🇸🤠

You know this is my first time seeing one of your videos and I like you, you don't bring politics into this you remain friendly and keep the info of the weapons in easy digestible bites and bring up the historical context of when the guns were "in service" so to speak telling us about other significant historical milestones rather than just focusing on the guns themselves

1899 the year my grandfather was born. Good old farmer he was. Lived to see the coming of automobiles, airplanes, two world wars, and men on the moon. He lived 101 years which meant he was present in 3 centuries. I still have some of his guns as well as a 55 year old Homelite chainsaw he owned. Still runs and when I fire it up once a year or so all the smoke and noise means I have my "man card" punched just like Grand Dad did.
