Another way to arm it is. Put in your code then push 4 for away instant

​@@DaveCarolson CODE+4 on a Vista is the MAXIMUM mode (away with no delay). Sone ADT versions of the Vista disable this function, but non-ADT Vista panels will have it. It really depends on what PROM Chip is in the control panel.
