Another great item to mention: Armored Skirt! It'll not give you armor spec, but it can change your armor category from medium to heavy/light to medium (unless you're using any leather armor :c). The pratical benefit is to get the heavy version from armor spec (or get it at all with a chain shirt!)

I'm glad you made this, I think I commented about the missing Proficiency group in the last video for the topic. I think there is something left to mention here and that is what type of armor. While all casters have the same proficiency scaling, some get only unarmored and some get light or even medium. Of course you can get different armor with some feat selection as well. Also Barbarian might as well be at -1 by default or -2 for Giant barb. I made some charts in the past with all classes, wearing various armor available at all levels so I could rank them. I ended up considering 16 categories from Giant Barb to Champion in heavy armor and have some nice charts I can share if you want. I mostly ended up doing AC at every level for each. Animal instinct Barb with Animal Skin is surprisingly good

I tried to mention this in your other clip, but I think youtube automoderated it away because I included a link to the feat. Barbarian Animal Instinct does get Animal Skin at level 6 which ups their armor proficiency to expert.

seems to me that the reinforced surcoat is essential for a caster. more likely to be critically hit means more chances to reduce critical damage. the casters in my party are nearby the frontlines as we are underground and there is not a lot of space to maneuver around. might suggest picking this item up to them.

The issue is, it's sorta tough to get that Medium armor proficiency as a caster without a dedication

That 5 foot penalty is a big problem with the surcoat though. Every square you can move is a big deal, and since plate already gives you a penalty even if you meet the requirement (unless you have it made of Mithril but that's like level 12 and lots of $$$), that would be 10 feet. That's way too much. I think the best use for the Surcoat is actually as a Cavalier or a Steed ally champion, since your horse is what's doing the moving there, so you don't care about your own movement speed

​@@Real_Sp00ks You are right. I had to reread it a few times, I misunderstood and believed that would only work on mail. But you can have full plate and get reduction againsts slashing from plate and crits from surcoat, nice

Please CRUNCH....acknowledge the Bracers of armour being WAY more powerful than normal armour in terms of bonus

How are they powerful? Its the same as buying the runes on explorer's clothing except you can only buy at 8/14/20 instead of runes being more granular (so benefits earlier) at 5/8/11/14/18/20 It's not even cheaper. The one thing that is more powerful is a wand of Mage Armor (lvl 1) is cheaper than the +1 rune for armor. So casters can save some money there
