Hey man, I appreciate your review, especially the grinding for new parts and returning to boss part at 5:26. But i disagree with a lot of your other points. As a fan both AC and Zone Enders, AC6 is a newer version of the older games. It's a little reductive to say everything is a trial and error crapshoot, when another way to phrase it is to say there are multiple ways to get through each boss, and that there ISN'T a single answer. I think we had different experiences, so thanks for the review!
@SolonGaming
@SolonGaming Жыл бұрын
All the answers are trial and error though. You can find many builds that work, some more than others and even brute force it by learning all of the bosses attack patterns through trial and error. You try to dodge and attack at the right time and every time you fail, you take damage and eventually die. Then you start again doing things slightly differently when it comes to timing your attacks dodges and directions. That's pure trial and error. Don't tell me the game demanded much reflexes or deep thoughts from the players, cause you know it didn't. There were times i had a really easy time with it because i just happened to have the right build and times that felt like i was wasting my time. I am glad you can enjoy your games regardless of their quality, but i am not willing to give a good score to a game that felt like a generic PS1 game, especially since it's my job to be accurate. You are welcome.

@@SolonGamingbro drop the ego lmao 😂. You think ur special but really you're just another guy on youtube taking advantage of clickbait and producing low effort "controversial" videos. Your review boils down to just complaining most of the time rather than elaborating on legitimately good points like certain builds trivializing bosses and why u feel thats a problem even if its the developers intent you go right back to complaining about stuff like melee being one button and repeating that the game is bland boring and generic over and over. Its not the fact u have a different opinion that bothers me its the inflated importance you give to that opinion of yours despite how little effort you clearly put into developing it. So how bout u check that ego and consider for once in ur life that u might be the stupid one. Oh but wait then you'd actually have to say something of substance and that takes a little too much effort for you i suppose🤷‍♂️😂

No one is mad. The attack is a one or two hit with no extra combinations with movement or anything. That's laziness incarnate. I never said i want combos in ranged guns, i just wanted the guns to function in different ways depending movement, ranged or holding another button in general, you know like ZOE 2 does.

@@SolonGamingHello! Rather than shout abuse I have informations and some positive things to say. First I very much appreciate yoru honesty as someone who also prefers ZOE2 to AC6. I will say however, the game's later weapons have features like this. What you hold or tap changes the mode of missile launchers, energy weapons, remote-weapons, burst-rifles, and most blades. Having inconsistency in the action of a weapon based on boosting state (burst, dash a la ZOE) wouldn't make thematic sense in Armored Core, nor would it make strategic sense since its a fundamentall different game. I say this as someone who also prefers ZOE2 to AC6. That said, I do deeply miss ZOE's state-changing features, like dash and burst. They added a lot of layers which were very enjoyable. The offscreen lockon is specifically to make you think about acquisition in a very direct way since getting and losing targets in Armored Core is a huge part of its core gameloop. Originally, the ACs had a deliberately limited turn-rate, and while they would auto-turn a bit to keep up with targets in some situations overall they needed a lot of manual pilot action. The ability to have differing turn-rates as a mechanic (which was a huge influence upon the game's balancing and ranging) was ditched, and so as a concession to the fans an imperfect hardlock was given which I'm personally not very fond of. I would prefer a hardlock which still included turn-rates, but in which if you're turned away from an opponent this perhaps alters the attack in some way, for example changing a blade-swing to encorporate it or something like that. I feel you should try Armored Core: For Answer. While it begins slow and plodding like AC6, the mid-game is actually faster than Zone of the Enders 2. It is seen by many as FROM software's "response" to Zone of the Enders. Banshee-NT has good videos showing what that looks like. Some of the best mecha combat I've ever seen, alongside obviously ZOE1&2 and their PS1 ancestor Omega-Boost which you might also enjoy. Its lockon mechanics and general design are similar, and though it lacks some of the melee elements until later in the game you can feel a common ancestry linking Omega Boost and Zone of the Enders. ACFA's multiplayer ("PCFA") got a fan-patch recently, 1.99. It is incredibly fun. I bring up ACFA, since AC6 feels like a bit of a toy compared to FA, which along with Verdict Day and Last Raven/Nexus are often seen as the high points in the AC series. On ZOE, There is a Zone of the Enders Discord out there if you search for it, and seeing some of the highest levels of play is deeply impressive. Speedrunners are incredible and this is where they go to. I am curious, what are the robot games you enjoy most other than ZOE2? I ask these questions as someone working on my own mecha-game and understanding your concerns and problems is inherently interesting for that reason. Take care and I hope you have a good day.

@@osakanone Did you edit the last paragraphs or did i not remember reading them? Anyway, i can beat ZOE 2 on the hardest difficulty and i am pretty good at the game myself. Not sure if i will be impressed by the speedrunners. I like the game's combat depth though. I enjoy RPGs generally, they are my favorite genre. I don't really care if a good game has robot in it or not. I don't have any specific attraction to mechs, but the fact that you can customize each part individually is cool. If done correctly, it can add a lot of depth to a mech game. AC games are flawed at their core, so the customization feels pointless. Just use ''x'' tool to beat ''y'' enemy. Front Mission is another franchise i like. Feel free to ask me specifics about anything. If i have the time i will make sure to answer.

@@SolonGaming Sorry, but roguelikes are the epitome of trial and error until you either get strong enough to beat the boss, get the right build to steamroll them, or your own skill with bad stats, which is how Armored Core works. Your videos are also all basically just shitting on games, with only one being remotely positive. Have you considered making reviews about games you like?
@SolonGaming
@SolonGaming Жыл бұрын
@@TranscientFelix Nope. Trial and error without depth is a design flaw. Roguelikes can be completely skill based. The roguelikes i mentioned along with many others i have played were 95% skill based which is way i beat them by dying a few times in my first playthrough and was winning consistently in every other. There are also many roguelikes that i beat with zero deaths. ''Star renegades'' and ''The Last Spell'' are some examples of them. Armored Core requires zero skill. Just memorise patterns and that's it. Memory is not a skill, it's a basic function for every lifeform unless you have Alzheimer's and tend to forget easily. I was extremely positive about many games in many of my videos, this one included. ZOE2 is great with little to no flaws. I will be making fully positive videos as well shortly. I have my eyes on ''Wandering Sword'' now, so as long as it turns out to be great, i will make a positive review.
@TranscientFelix
@TranscientFelix Жыл бұрын
@@SolonGaming Uh, Armored Core can be "skill based" too; the same way you don't need godlike rolls in Hades to beat a boss by your skill alone, you don't need godlike equipment in Armored Core to beat any boss. I do think it's a skill issue, particularly since the idea of "there are many roguelikes I beat with zero deaths" sounds very hollow; both roguelikes you beat are tactical roguelikes and not real time combat like Armored Core; are you sure you're just not good at real time action? And I doubt you'll make a positive review video: you haven't before for who knows what reason, why now? Isn't it too entertaining for you to pick and choose something to bash instead of something you can compliment?
@SolonGaming
@SolonGaming Жыл бұрын
@@TranscientFelix No, Armored Core can't be skill based too. In Hades you can dodge enemy attacks by observing and having fast reflexes and you make good boons choices by having brains. Armored Core has some bosses with attacks that you can't tell which direction you are supposed to dodge just by looking. You learn by trying to dodge to different directions by a repeating process of trial and error. Then you procced to remember which attacks are dodged in what ways for the rest of them in the exact same way. Yes the roguelikes i beat are tactical and require brains and strategy which is actual skill and requires deep thinking and planning ahead. Hades, Returnal are action games, but i guess you forgot i mentioned them already due to poor memory or just because you are desperate to scream ''skill issue'' like the rest of Fromsofties. I also beat Ninja Gaiden 2 with zero death on both normal and hard difficulty. Devil May Cry 3, Nioh 2 and many others when i was even a child. I did die on those a lot though, but the point is i play all kinds of games well. Celeste, Ori, all kinds of genres regardless of how hard the game is, as long as the game was designed well. You know nothing about me and you should stop making up stuff to suit a pointless narrative. No one was impressed in my school when i was 14 and beat DMC3 and no one is impressed on the internet if you beat a snorefest like AC6 with a blindfold.

Calling this game boring is like saying runescape for mobile it a thrilling action packed experience. Having three dimensions to fight and engage in can be too much for some people, sure I get that but if you wanna look at the game for what it is and not what you want it to be then maybe you could find the joy in fromsoft showing some love to a franchise that was abcent from the market for more than a decade

What in the world are you even saying? I judged the game for what it is. Comparing it to ZOE2 was meant to give an example of what a good game is even after 20 years and not what i want it to be. AC6 is not even the best of it's own franchise. Try comprehension skills next time.

@SolonGaming your not seriously gunna say "what are you even saying" and finish your comment with "try compression skills next time". There's enough Gaul and hipocracy there to kill a live studio audience with laughter. I haven't played all 15+ instalments of armoured core but I did play 4 and 5. 4 is fantastic in the sence that people still play super smash bros melee in tournies while we have smash ultimate and AC 5 was not just one of best mech games to hit the old generation of consoles but it was a great game in its own right even before fromsoft had a decade + away from the AC series to develop the textbook fromsoft gamestyle. There are always gunna be older generations of people who had a favourite game and will never change it. People's hearts are won over by different things so I'd be totally understanding if this wasn't your favourite game but if your gunna fight with your viewers and leave a half assed underhanded "evaluation" of my comprehension skills then I'll happily call you out for being so dense as to say that AC 6 is not the best of the AC franchise. The game runs so smoothly, the story was shown alot of love compared to previous AC games, It dosent just look beautiful for the world setting your in but it invites simultaneous strategic and chaotic gameplay. Maybe a little less so for console if your not running an elite controller with backpaddles but what I'm trying to get across is that your take on AC 6 not being the best instalment of the armoured core franchise is a poor opinion and moreover maybe just your problem. I'd have been less inclined to be so deep with my comment if you weren't a hypocrite in trying to pick me apart for my "comprehension skills" but bickering with your viewers over opinions on a videogame in the KZbin comment section is a huge waste of your time as a "content creator". The way you responded tells me I obviously hurt your pride so I will offer you an apology for sharing my opinion, but trying to be ignorant of what I say or feigning ignorance as an excuse to be so petty is sad enough for me to have a chuckle. Obviously it's true that I'm just sharing my opinion as you are yours, but I didn't think it was worth showing you were so cut over it😮‍💨

Compared to you I can't say I have as many gripes with this title as you, and that comes from me that has an under the minimum required specs PC to play the game, and the damn thing still runs fine, which to be fair isn't an argument related to the video. Everyone's opinion is subjective when it comes to what they like or don't. For instance AC 6, you may not like this game, but I like it a lot. So yeah. I pretty much disagree with most things you said, except for the target assist part, yeah... it kind of sucks, but it works well enough in boss fights, which is the only thing that justifies its existence.
