Didn’t expect a Nutbug AC video! I was half-expecting a 40k video, but you’ve now captured two big portions of my fanboy brain, hehe…

Nexts are actually a bit bigger than Old-Gen ACs, and 5th-gen ACs are a bit smaller. It is sometimes rumored that Nexts and the AC4+FA events came before AC5+VD, and that 5th-Gen and Old-Gen ACs were developed from normals, which is why they were smaller and less powerful.
@zorain23549 күн бұрын
@@salvoix86 Average Nexts height is 10m similar to older generation same as Normals while 5th gen is 4-7m. Not all 5th gen parts were developed from Normals, TE parts and late 5th gen are the best example due to design heavily drew from GA, Interior union and Torus Nexts
@justsomeguywithlasereyes99209 күн бұрын
Those are not rumors 4th gen IS connected to 5th gen, ACVs world looks exactly like what youd expect it would from the plot of 4A, that you end up fighting a somewhat changed/restored White Glint just drives that point home.

In all time lines MTs/ Muscle Tracers were the first Mechs. Then Armored Core were developed from Muscle Tracers using the same technology. Only ACs are specific moduler as parts can be changed out, while MTs can't be customized as much. NEXTs are the "next" evolution of ACs. As instead of Muscle Tracing tech they use Psychic Abilities as the main pilot integration tech. Gen 5 ACs are refurbished tech from old ACs and MTs from before NEXTs. As all NEXTs were "destroyed" because the 3rd AFCA ending is the true ending. So NEXTs were seen as too powerful to be let loose into the world again. The reason gen 5 ACs are smaller is A: easier to produce in mass B: fromsoft wanted to try out it's building jumping mechanics and that would look weird in a 10 meter tall mech. So they made them 5 meters tall Gens 1-4 & 6 are 10 meters (cockpit tank hatch behind the head) Gens 5 are 5 meters (chest opens up from the front for the cockpit) Cliff notes of the main differences and lore behind the ACs and Nexts

Where the hell do you guys keep getting the info that NEXTs are taller than old gen bar 1st? They are the same size as 3rd gen and 6th gen.
@DanzIndz6 күн бұрын
@@pillarmenn1936 ye. all ACs bar V has the same average height. The only probable cause for this misconception is the way older games depicted the scale. AC1 has notoriously large cars (for environmental hazard purposes.), they fixed the scaling in AC: Project Phanthasma by putting an actual human figure ingame in one of the cutscenes.

Dunno if I'd count the vascular plant, since it's not a vehicle or war machine - it's really the equivalent of an oil rig. Anyway, it still kinda blows my mind that the Heavy Combat Helicopter is roughly the size of the Titanic.
@zorain235410 күн бұрын
Interesting that in the book, Type D concept art is taller than 100m but shorter in the game probably due to hardware limitations Also the scariest thing about type D is not about its weapons but it could jump with that size

Xylem? PCA satellite/Watchman? The extraction plant is more of an industrial machine than a weapon, too...

Yeah, the vascular plant is basically the equivalent of an oil rig. Feels like it was included just because of how big it is.

all armored cores from gen 1 up to gen 6, with the exception of gen 5 are around 8-12m tall. the height difference comes to the leg part equipped. gen 5 AC are noted to be at least 5m tall.
@jakeboston19 күн бұрын
Not all ACs are the same size. 5th Gen AC is half the size of a NEXT. Mean while the First Second and Third Gen are somewhere in the middle. The Third Gen AC units, are the grunt units you fight alot in the first few missions of Armored Core 4 to show the sheer difference of power and size. Gen 6 is still around Gen 3 size. NEXT Are still the pinnacle of AC power/speed. Nothing has come close to them yet.

Really shows how badly rubicon gets fucked up in the fires ending, even without the coral explosion the impact of a 100km metal mountain falling on the planet would be enough to wipe out all human life.
