Thank you Dmitry. After hours of study, you have convinced me to choose Armor Quartz Coating for my brand new 2024 Toyota Tacoma with candy red metallic paint. I enjoy your videos. This will be my first paint sealant project and i will research it fully prior to my install. Thank you for helping me decide which product that will seal the paint and enhance the red color.

Awesome video Dmitry. I use Armour Detail Supply for all of my ceramic coatings. It can definitely feel tacky, but I’ve found that using less product can make life a lot easier while still providing performance. The color change is wild, my clients love it.

Thanks for the tips and the field report. I think it's definitely possible to dial in applying this product. My rating mainly says this isn't an easy/beginner product, in my opinion. It's not a hard product, and I'm sure it can be easier to install in the right circumstance.

@DmitrysGarageАй бұрын
Awesome to hear the Pro coating works well too. Really the durability on this one is quite good. At 300 washes the non-pro was still almost like new. I suspect it held out quite a bit longer than that, just not to the full 1,000 mark. I wonder if the Pro would hit 1K.

Thanks! I have and will continue to test some sprays as well, tested the Ethos recently and will have another video with a different spray in the next few weeks. I haven't tested the advanced version of Adam's graphene spray, just the normal, so it could be worth a shot.

I've applied 4 different ceramic coatings in about 10 years: -Duragloss -TAC system Power Plus -Gyeon Q2 Pure EVO -ADS Quartz I'm no pro installer but I had ZERO issues applying/removing ADS Quartz, not sure why your experience was so difficult, certainly not as difficult as understanding-10/-5/0/+5/+10 scoring system😋
@DmitrysGarageАй бұрын
I'm glad it worked well for you. Hard to say why my experience was different, but I apply many coatings a week on a busy week and I can tell you this bottle wasn't as easy to use as many others I try. As far as the scoring system, I do understand it's unconventional. The goal is to leave it a bit loose for subjective tests. It's hard to realistically call something a 3.7 out of 10 when I'm basing it on look and feel. Appreciate you taking the time to comment and watch!

This was my first paint coating i ever applied, to my surprise when i pulled it out of the garage into the sun i only had one small high spot on non metallic black paint that easily removed, a few on the rear glass as i must of hit the glass with the applicator when doing the trunk. Application is tricky and probably wouldn't rebuy because of that, here's some mistakes i made, some annoyances with the coating itself and overall general thoughts after application. -Flashed a little too quick, soon as I was done one panel I had to buff off immediately. -Buff off was pretty tacky, maybe used too much in some areas. -Tough to see the sweating effect at most angles even on my black car, shouldn't have crosshatched because it almost disappears if you try going over it in a different direction. -Very tough to see the wetness and where you last applied. -Great second buff, very slick under the towel and to the touch -The best part of this coating isnt the application, its everything afterwards.
@DmitrysGarageАй бұрын
Wow what a fantastic write up, appreciate you taking the time to put this together. I especially agree with your last statement, it's a great coating, but the application can be a bit tricky in some circumstances. I think someone who does coatings often enough won't find it too tricky and would love the results, especially if doing it for a customer, but as you found it could be a bit of a toughie for a first timer.

Awesome video! Definitely considering this for my next costing application as a DIY guy. Question for you… would you recommend a specific costing for white paint and someone who will be doing their 2nd coating ever? I did my first a couple of months ago…CLEAN 8 year… it was very easy and forgiving…
@DmitrysGarage11 күн бұрын
I don't really test much on white paint, red and black usually. I suspect you'd want one of the ones that does well on red, because it's a lighter color. I really liked this particular coating. I also really like the Ethos Max, which is a great option for durability if you feel confident with something that could be just a bit more prone to high spots. Essentially how good is your lighting and are you confident you will wipe it all off in time?

Are you updating the Wax Testing Results V2.0? I see the spreadsheet @11:22 looks different than the V2.0 sheet. (I use V1.0 and V2.0 all the time!) :>
@DmitrysGarageАй бұрын
I decided to start archiving results including the 1.0 and 2.0 in favor of starting annual leader boards. Products are discontinued, testing methodologies change over time, and one big list doesn't let you look back if it gets purged of products. My thought now is to archive each year as a snapshot of what the standings were. If you check out the detailing submenu on my site (or link in the description) you will see "BEST CERAMIC COATINGS OF 2024" which is going to be this years top list for coatings. There are lists for other product types as well. In January when I copy the list over to 2025 I will purge products that are discontinued or otherwise can't or won't be retested to conform to new methodologies for the 2025 list. This way we always have a concise fresh list and a year by year history of results. Maybe we will say "wow company X has massively improved since 2024" one day :-).

Have you tested any stacked coatings? I’m just wondering how performance “stacks” up against single layer. I’ve found CSL & EXOv5 to be nice and slick. I’ve also done DIY 5 + 3 year.
@DmitrysGarageАй бұрын
There are sooo many combinations. I have stacked products in a few tests before. Stacking can definitely work, but it takes some trial and error. I'm personally more excited about the amazing performance we're getting from single layer coatings these days. It's crazy the performance you can get out of one application now.

That's sort of what the elcometer tests tries to emulate, but of course it's using a mild shampoo (Adam's most simple Blue formulation) while some of the car washes (especially tunnels) may use harsher chemicals.
