Hi, I just starting to wing foiling, have almost 10 lessons and it is going good, have experience with kitefoiling from before, and want to buy armstrong setup, i have 100kg , and use wing 6 and 8 m, would you recommended HS1550 v2 or CF 1600 for progression?? Tnx
@REALmattnuzzo7 ай бұрын
Thanks for the message. I would go with the CFv2 1600 as it has a more mellow power delivery and is very user friendly. You would get more speed from the 1550 but for your ability level I think you would be better off on the CFv2 1600.

Just bought the CF1600v2 from u guys last week. Just tried it out this weekend. Very stable when behind the boat. Getting up super easy same with turning. Good wing to have in your quiver. Also help some friends learn how to foil on it! They had no problem getting up!

Killer. Thanks for the order. We have found the same. Super easy to start on and when you put on a performance tail, the thing just lights up. Enjoy the glide!

Thanks Matt for the review! I am wingfoiling since almost one year and using the CF2400 V2. I also have the HS1550 V2 but never used so far as I am still learning to jibe. What would you recommend as next Armstrong wing as soon as I am confident with jibing? Shall I switch to the HS1550 V2 or would you recommend and in-between size? Thanks again!

Hi, I’m looking for advice as I just sold my Axis set HPS 1050 and 880 - moving to Armstrong now so that’s why I need your advice to build my quiver (my weight 80kg), intermediate wingfoiler and mainly on flat water (lac) Thanks for your help Daniel

I have a CF 1200 that I will keep for light wind days . For strong wind days or if I what a faster ride I was thinking of a smaller wing, I notice Armstrong discontinue the CF 800 and replace it with the CF 950 V2, can you compare the HS 1050 and the CF 950 V2 assuming that I keep my CF 1200? USE FOR KITE FOIL ONLY.
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
I would get the new CF950. It is a much more versatile front than the 800. We do have a couple CF800 left if you want it for really bumpy waters but the CFv2 950 is easier to get on foil and will add a lot more speed to kite foiling than the CF1200. Compared to the HS1050, the 950 will be more pitch stable, slightly less top speed but more controlled.

Can u explain the pump technique for winging with say the 1250 or the 1550V2, moved over to Armstrong from the Takuma 1600 LOL which is amazing BTW. Seem to struggle getting on foil with the 1250, 85cm mast, 60 fuse, 232 tail. The Takuma just had amazing lift, assuming the HS wings have a different technique, cheers
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
One of the biggest issues that people have coming from Takuma or Axis to Armstrong is that they ride the mast too far back on the track. The Armstrong foil requires a neutral foot pressure rather than a lot of front foot pressure like the Takuma. Therefore you should ride the Armstrong 2-4cm farther forward than your Takuma. You might consider starting with the cfv2 300 tail wing as well. That will give you more lift and stability that you are used to.

So is the new CF2050 more like the HS1850 rather than the old CF2400?
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
@@ClivehWright Nope. The 2050 is closer in size to the CF2400 since it is flatter. You can get similar lift to the 2400 but better control and top speed. Kind of like a more lifty version of the 1850.

What do you guys think is the most high performance foil for prone surfing? I am thinking about switching over to Armstrong because I am not happy with my current setup. I am stuck between carving series or the HS series.
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the message. Highest performance depends on your size, ability and waves. The best guys on our team swear by the HA725 and 925 for prone. Great pump, fast and turn really well. Between the HS and CF, the HS will be easier to connect waves and still turns really well. The CF handles take offs easier, rips turns in the pocket and will be harder to pump than the HS. The size to choose depends on your ability level, weight and conditions. Feel free to call the shop or chat in to discuss. 252.987.6000.

How does the CF1200V2 compare to the HS1250? Looking to use it with my HA195 or FV200 tail.
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
The V2 1200 won’t be quite as fast or have as much glide as the HS1250 but it will have a tighter turning radius and be quicker rail to rail. Also the HS1250 is going to be a little less pitch stable and harder to ride.

@@REALmattnuzzo Thank you! Hoping for a 1250V2… to add to my 1550V2.

I’m looking to buy my first Armstrong foil set for use on the southwest coast of Florida, wind range is on the lower end at 8-15kts. I’m intermediate/advanced and am looking for a foil to both be an excellent performance lightwind setup but also one that I could teach my Dad on. Deciding between the HS1850, HS1550 V2, or the CF2050. Any input is appreciated!
@REALmattnuzzo2 жыл бұрын
It depends on your weight and the size of board. I am inclined to say go for the HS 1850 kit as that will have a great balance of low and lift and higher speeds for better performance. This comes with the HS232v2 tail wing and will be awesome for you. I would recommend getting a CF300v2 tail wing to make it extra easy for you Dad and give you more light wind lift for the sub 10mph days. The 2050 is super fun and will be the best in the light stuff and easiest to learn on but might not have the glide that you want. The HS1550v2 is my favorite all around wing and would be a great second wing for your quiver but might not have the low end nut you want or be as easy for your dad to learn.
