It waant a traction motor replacement. Theyre the same TIM970 motors as before, just hotachi designed electrical system (IGBT VVVF)done and retrofitted by abb which is why it sounds similar not identical.

I always thought that the traction motors were replaced. Didn't realise it was just the electronics. Thanks for the info.

@@davestransportvideos its no problem when the old version gets up to speed right? Well it sounds the same today just the inital sound is javelin like. Odd but cool. Anyways glad i could help
