I love what Engin says at the end about the amateur spirit. Everything should be professional and smart in business aspects etc. but the pure love for the sport should always stay
@Lagia723 күн бұрын
One thing that I wish was addressed more in these mainstream talks though is the rules. Armwrestling clearly still has an issue with that, and we should prioritize that too

@LagiaArm I wouldn't put too much stock in what Engin has to say. He is always trying to create some kind of conflict to make the fights more interesting. Then he complains if Devon goes overboard. Lol!!! I think deep inside he knows that's the only way for the sport to get recognition is through these types of antics. I also believe he gets pressured from other competitors for allowing these things to happen. It's a double-edged sword.

Love these pre event interviews! I was very gladful you guys implemented this format since several events ago. It's so interesting to listen to what the athletes hav to say, status of their training, thoughts on the opponent and so on. What Engin has been doing for the overall growth of the sport is amazing. Just within past few years, armwrestling has super obviously got big, and is really fun for us who get fun out of the sport. The man also know what is needed to sustain this success. The fact that people keep deeming every last card "the best card so far" is for sure a very good sign! Some people doesn't seem to understand how important of a sportform to get mainstream status..., sustainability for instance; without mainstream success= less awarenss= lesser new talents= bad, talking about longterm sustainability. Some of the fellow armwrestling fans are just hard to understand for me :/ The fact is, for many people, armwrestling has never been this enjoyable in history! For that thank you very much to everyone involved in making East vs West

Only thing missing from the PPV:s now is that the audio has to be better. Sometimes the commentators voices are barely hearable and then suddenly it feels like someone is eating the mic. Also the graphics which shows the fouls or round seems to be almost always wrong. I've bought all the EvW except one. Thank you Engin!

Just do not play with the money please. If you want 20 say you want 20. Until now it was this way. Do not go cheap to foul peoples for £3-4. I know with all the PPV sales it makes a different but don't go this way. If you charge 20 we still pay that, but if you say 16 and everyone got charged for 20odds that is not nice.

If you reach more people in all countries of the world, it is inevitable that there will be more viewers. Almost every man would watch and with the selection of arm wrestlers, everyone will have a person they can identify with or think is cool. Actually, the current step would have to be to reach more viewers, because a lot of people don't know that AW is a thing, but would be interested in it. There is the PDC European Darts there the prize money for the whole 10-day event in 2000 was 60k and in 2020 it is 600k. This is just as possible here.

Armwrestling will never be a mainstream sport until we get running fouls, and start in straps to streamline matches. Matches take WAY to long. Also false starts should ABSOLUTELY be a foul. It's insane you can false start 5 times and still win the round in a 3 foul system, or 3 times in a 2 foul system.

I know this comment get some hate, but Devon made EvW what it is today. The next big bump in ratings will be Brian Shaw. I understand that the hardcore fans don't like Devon's antics, but the reality is, If we want to go mainstream, we need people with personalities'.

@limo-swine6537 You call it Shenanigans, I call it personality. Look, a lot of these fighters are competing in other organizations that no one knows about , except for the hardcore community. Thats definition of gatekeeping brother, which i dont think is good. Other people want to enjoy armwrestling as much as me and enjoy this sport. You can't prevent people from loving armwrestling you see. Also why?? 😅 Why not want the sport you claim to love to be successful with more global awareness, therefore more influx of fans who could one day become capable armwrestler themselves, so more armwrestling prodigies= me and you hav to enjoy armwrestling for the rest of our life! These armwrestlers we are loving so much right now, thy woudlnt be alive forever you know. Im not even sure what your thought process actually is. But from my understanding, you're just alittle selfish 😅
