I use a Snugpak rocketpak, internal aluminium frame, very light very durable, very comfortable, great padding. an upgrade from the british army issue bergen.

Oh! My frame for my MOLE 2 pack is the Gen IV, that are extra thick and are made with a different than the black frames that were known to break apart in Afghanistan.

I have been in the british army for 13 years and i really like the issued PLCE long back bregan I have tried the american frame bergans and i ended up in a bad way after a 2 weeks exercise. I think this was because the support was to high up and i perfer my back support lower down but thats because i am a big unit of an irish man lol..

This is the best pack video I've seen. I hear that you wear the 82 pat webbing around your hips so that you can carry the pack at the same time. Will that work with the ALICE pack as well?? or is it incompatible?

I like the old 64 pattern... I enjoy my 82 pattern but it seems smaller than the 64... I would like to get a bag that I can put over my 82 pattern webbing which I have altered to accept Lowepro field and street camera strorage pieces. Was looking at a small British bag at Hero but not sure if it would do the trick.

Everything there except the Bergen is obselete. The new 2011 issue Bergen is 125 Liter and covered in Molle. Nice piece of kit. The new CTS Ruck Canada has is just a Internal Frame civie pack.

Hey i have a vinyl version of the c2 rucksack which doesn't seem to be the rubber cotton or nylon version of this pack made by f.m. co in 1983 does anybody have any info because i can't find anything.And i just have to state it's not the 82 pattern rucksack it's the one based off the american lightweight rucksack from the sixties.Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Dude, can you go over how to adjust an ACU rucksack? I m having difficult when I road march, too much pain on my shoulder, not sure how to address the situation.

I have an ACU pattern MOLLE 2 rucksack. I like the broad distribution of the load, as compared to many strictly civilian ones who are skinny and tall. Makes you feel like you have a pre-teen kid riding on your back, and I don't like that.

I just got me a brand new MOLLE 2 Rucksack with the Gen IV frame. Still has the brand new smell on it. BTW, off topic. I think if and when I am able to travel up north into Canada, two places I would like to check out, mainly because of their names - Medicine Hat, and Thunder Bay. I like that name - Thunder Bay. Just the name tells me the climate will be better than Phoenix AZ during the non-winter months of the year.

i recking tht u guys in canada should buy the british PLCE army issue bergens/packs standerd at 120lt or 135lt, alot more simple and compact easy to use and handle, i mean shit ur half way there are countrys already have huge similarities, with ranks, drill, uniform, only thing is we do have better snipers haha lol.

Could you explain why the military pack there sacks heavy on the shoulders while civi's pack there weight low and on the hips?

jon moore military packs are designed to work with your web gear and belt order. You wear a belt and suspender load-bearing system in the military and nowadays a vest or load bearing waistcoat that carries your plate armour, ammo, med dressings and a ton of other crap. Your ruck can't interefere with this stuff and is dropped at a moments notice.

also studies have shown that for extended periods of rucking with rucks between 60-80 lbs, it's best to have the weight up by your shoulders and up against your back, as opposed to low over the hips and toward the back of the ruck
