I've cried many times out of frustration and disappointment in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri basic training when I was having a hard time with trying to qualify for my weapon during riflemanship in White phase. And I cried almost every Sunday through the whole religious services we'd go to. One time at religious services, I cried so hard that I had to catch my breath and breathe to try to calm myself down to no avail 😭. I could feel big crocodile tears pouring down my face and head starting to hurt because I was crying so hard. And my eyelids were puffy crying. At that time, I have not talked to my family at the homefront in weeks since we returned from Christmas leave. We were a Fall/Winter 2019-2020 cycle. I was missing my mom, nieces, and sisters so so much. I lost my dad in May 2019 months before I left for the Army in November 2019. And I just started the enlistment process right before he passed away. Even though my dad and I didn't really have a close emotionally connected relationship, I still allowed myself to grieve and cry and mourn his death. However he and I didn't have a strained or hostile relationship either. He was just there and came and went anytime he felt like it and did what he wanted to do. That's alI I could remember about my dad. I was sensitive and feeling emotionally charged at the moment and wanted to embrace every opportunity I could get to check up on family back at home even more now that I have one parent left. So, for those of you who are about to ship out to basic training, don't ever take family relationships at home for granted or depart with a grudge with them. You'll never know if your departure to basic training could be the last good-bye 😢. Make that phone call if you can depending on who your drill sergeant is. Only thing to do at this point in time is hope and pray you get a drill sergeant who doesn't have the heart of an ice king or queen that will allow you all to make phonecalls even if it's just 3 minutes to let them know you made it to your destination safely and that you're okay and that you love them. It will mean the World to your loved ones at home. Write a lot of letters to them regularly, they'll appreciate that too. So I was one female soldier who cried the most out of all the other female soldiers in my company when my emotions went in overdrive when I got disappointed, sad, frustrated, getting sick when something was going around making other females ill, etc. It was the flu virus and I wasn't trying to catch the flu. And by the way, we got smoked alot as a whole platoon throughout all three phases. Smoking sessions were spent doing push-ups, mountain climbers, half-jacks, squat benders, bend-and-reaches, and power jumps. And our drill sergeant was tough and cared less about what phase we were in. If he felt the need to smoke us for whatever reason, he did it until he felt like stopping. And the smoking sessions by him was Intense and seemed like an eternity 😭. And my other drill sergeant, she seemed able to pick up on and distinguish which soldiers who were really trying and giving their best effort in what they are supposed to do and those who just don't give a hoot and keep doing the wrong thing. But despite shedding many tears during hard times and laughing hartily at the hilarious things my battle buddies and drill Sergeants said during good times in basic training, I made it through and accomplished qualifying on my weapon and got Marksman, passed all my PT tests, and graduated from Army Basic Combat Training on February 13, 2020 a brand spanking new soldier. Despite still not feeling my best because I had a nasty cough, BCT graduation was one of the best things that ever happened to me that I won't forget. Joining the Army was the best decision I made and I am glad I did. In my company there always seemed to be a lot of high school drama among the girls like arguing over trivial matters like the fire guard duty list, personality clashes, he said/she said stuff, and all that petty stuff. They would even get into it with the holdovers sometimes. Some of the males were anal in our platoon too. So, sometimes, at the end of the day, the only best friend to have in basic training is yourself. I only had three best friends and that was it. A vast majority of the girls were just associates and the rest I didn't care too much for.

Tayla Dunn you don’t have to necessarily be fit you get to take at least 3 Pt tests and the only one that matters is the last one! So it’s ok if you don’t go in physically fit that’s what bct is for! I didn’t prepare myself at all for bct nor did any of my battles! & we still made it so don’t be nervous!

I know I am quite late ( i mean I hope you're not still in AIT ), but just curious...were you in Fort Gordon and was Drill Sergeant Darden or cooper Kennel still there? Good Lord do not step on his D at the entrance, 'cause "he got something for you" (end quote). Seriously though, joining up was the best decision of my life and getting out was the worst. Best wishes with you all and get as much as you can out of it. There are zero jobs out here that beat being a soldier and not a day goes by I don't miss it. Always remember there are a lot of us who will keep you all in mind and prayers 24/7. Cabledawgs, Hooah ( sorry couldn't resist).

I’m in the process of joining the army, and I just wanted to know what was the PT like everyday during basic training and what I should work on. Right now I’m working on getting a good time for my 2 mike run. But I’d like to know what pt was like for you on the day to day.

DeezVlog this is Pv2 Braggs I didn’t work on anything before I left but, I think you should work on everything. Pushups, Sit-Ups, and run is what PT consists of course so google the Army pt test requirement and it tells what you need to pass for your age range ! I’ll let Sgt Braggs explain more😀 congratulations to you 🎉🎉

PT varies depending on the unit you go to. One thing that is the same is PRT. You can google the preparation and recovery drills. A good thing to work on is push ups, sit ups and 2 mike run. Everyone has a different experience during AIT I joined 4 years ago and my wife told me things that she’d done that had changed. Occasionally we had Ability Group Runs (AGR) that’s when we get in a group based on our two mile time and run 2 miles. We rucked a lot as well. Honestly PT isn’t as hard as people make it seem. As long as you can do push ups, sit ups and run you’ll do fine.

What’s The Difference Between AIT And Basic Training ? I’m Really Anxious To Join But It’ll Be A Couple Of Years From Now Because Of My Child .
@armybraggsandbratsofficial3275
@armybraggsandbratsofficial3275 6 жыл бұрын
@Troikasheia the difference between BCT & AIT is BCT is basic combat training which consists of learning the basic army knowledge, during that time you are transitioning from a civilian to a soldier. AIT is a totally different ball game but, the same rules pretty much apply. You get more freedom in AIT! BCT feels like confinement but, you get to learn how to be a soldier there! In AIT you learn the job you sign up for plus clean up all the time! Lol I hope that answered your question! If you have anymore questions don’t hesitate to ask!
