Army Infantry Training During Korean War

This pre-1970s film takes us to the home of the "Queen of Battle," Fort Benning, Georgia, where the U.S. Army kept infantrymen highly trained with the most weapons available. Korean and World War II veterans discuss their "know how" and training new arrivals during the Korean War. There is also a look at Ranger training where every man is a specialist in every type of Army weapon.

Fort Polk Louisiana 6/75~10/75 toughest School of Infantry known to man :)

Ft. Polk was home to the biggest Advanced Infantry Training course in the U.S. Army back during the Vietnam War and was a huge jumping off point for all infantry troops deploying to Southeast Asia from 1962-1974. Now, Polk is home to the 4th BCT of the 10th Mountain Div., and the Joint Readiness Training Center, or "JRTC." I went through JRTC when it used to be held up at Ft. Chaffee, AR up till 1991. Then in 1993 or thereabouts, they moved it to Ft. Polk.

gotwa229 Tigerland was closed 4~5 1975 just before I got to Polk an All Graduates from Tigerland were top percentage of Infantrymen returning from Vietnam
