Hey i just want to say thank you for making this video. I am going to graduate with no clear direction on what i want to do in life. I knew out of high school i wanted to enlist. But because of my parents they wanted me to go to college. After i get this degree, i can actually prepare in advance if i want to go this route . Thanks for making this unknown path clear for the rest of us to even consider to apply.

can you elaborate on the actual process of becoming an officer from start to finish? As I understand it, you meet with a recruiter, send in all your application materials and waivers, you meet the board, you get accepted. Then you start your time in service at basic as an enlisted soldier. Upon finishing basic you get shipped to OCS, and graduate as an O-1, then get shipped to MOS-specific training. Finish your specialty training, then you move to your permanent base or deployment? I think the enlist first, officer second part is throwing me off because Army is the only branch that seems to do this.
@kidthndr27 жыл бұрын
You litterally just explained it. Yes the ARMY is the only branch that sends its OCS officers to BCT first.
@ohdannyboy68017 жыл бұрын
Awesome, and does your four-year AD commitment start once you finish OCS or when you finish your MOS training?

Hi, I have an A.A. (90 college credits total) and want to finish up a Bachelor's Degree. Will a Bachelor of Arts (or B.S.) in Multidisciplinary Studies still be an eligible 4-year degree for Army OCS? I'm working full-time right now and trying to finish my degree online for convenience or time/cost. My final goal is to be an RN, but at the moment it's not possible, thus, pushing me to earn a Bachelor's in Multidisciplinary Studies solely for the purpose of OCS. I've read that any degree as long as it's a B.A/B.S is eligible, but this one isn't a specific major so idk.😭 Anyway, my GT in july was a 130 (93% overall asvav). GPA was 2.8 due to getting kicked out of home and living with friends/in my car, etc. But that will increase, as I am used to being an honor student. Thank you.

Thanks for making this video. I was arrested twice but the charges were dropped both times. Normally the army doesn’t need a waiver for charges that were dropped. Do you know if they need a waiver for my innocent charges if I join as an officer? Thank you so much for this video. Very helpful.

You mentioned the APFT being part of the packet... Is that for civilian applicants or prior service applicants? If civilian, what scores do we need in order to qualify/be considered competitive? I can't seem to find a straight forward answers to these questions anywhere online! Thanks so much!
@kidthndr27 жыл бұрын
The APFT is for both Civ and Prior service. Civilian I think its 240 and above is competitive however I dont see to many people here below 270 just fyi. I had 276 before I left for basic however some of the guys had like 250 or so while there and progressively got better.

I suddenly want to go for OCS because I will receive my bachelors degree in two months as well. Man , honestly. There are so many benefits to applying while your still in college. You can literally go through both boards and your application process and be shipping out a week or 2 weeks after you have entered DEP. You dont have to wait , or get a job. Possibly waiting untill you have your degree in hand could make you more competitive but not really. So yea If I could go back in time definitely would apply starting my last 2 years of college instead of waiting untill the last month of graudation....
