Interesting. It seems like lots of kids fresh out of college went to OCS during COVID-19 because the job market was harsh. I'm in OCSs right now, and my class is actually 50% in-service/prior-service, and 50% college options (civilians with no prior service experience). And even the latter tends to be old (usually in their 20s), so there hasn't been that much silly college drama. Also, no more 4-mile run to class up. You do ACFT. If there are more people than the company can take in, the ones with the lowest scores will get cut. If there are fewer, everyone will class up as long as they pass ACFT (i.e., get higher than 60 in all sections). You do 4 miles in the middle of the school, and it's a go or no-go event. Run faster than 36 mins for 4 miles, and you'll be good.

Class 2-02. Great video. I was a 09S and I learned way more from the prior service folks in my class than I did from the course of instruction. Huge thanks to all the prior service and NCOs that help square away their classmates.

I appreciate the information. This is something I’ve been considering applying and pursuing in the Guard or Reserve, and understanding Federal OCS as prior service is helpful.

Informative, thinking of taking this route. Just being nervous for tip #2 Pt, especially that 4 mile

Applying for the next board, coming from the Air Force. Thanks for the video. Any tips for the educational portion?
@victorking4782 жыл бұрын
The OPORDS is the biggest thing. If you can prepare yourself to at least be familiarized with that portion the rest of the education will be fairly to easy to grasp.

Hello. In-service candidate bout to go to OCS. The packing list does not include IOTV and plates. Should I bring them anyway? Thanks in advance for your time.

Hello LT, thank you for this video. I myself am struggling to find adequate information on the process to go from an enlisted soldier to commissioning through OCS. I am curious if you could possibly share your process of going about submitting your packet at your unit and what tips you would give someone like me who is enlisting as an E-4 rather than an 09S. (I submitted a packet for 09S earlier this year and it was approved except for the fact the civilian quotas were a year wait time so I opted to enlist as an E-4 and get basic/AIT out of the way as well as experience PCSing to a duty station in that meantime and then re-apply but as an enlisted E-4 with the hopes of getting to OCS with tangible Army experience to help me succeed on my commissioning journey)

The wait time is going to be the wait time regardless. Your packet should be essentially the same when you submit after enlisting. You’ll just need to find the Milper message on the HRC website that lays out the criteria. Again, it’ll basically be identical to the paperwork you had to fill out for 09S and the criteria typically doesn’t change much from year to year. Let me know if you’re having trouble finding it and I can check and email it to you

@@victorking478Thank you sir, I appreciate the response. I will certainly check for that criteria, I am familiar with the process but if I can’t find the Milper message I will let you know. Do you have an Instagram or email we can talk at?
