Army of Darkness[a] is a 1992 American comedy horror film directed, co-written and co-edited by Sam Raimi, co-produced by Robert Tapert and Bruce Campbell and co-written by Ivan Raimi. Starring Campbell and Embeth Davidtz, it is the third installment in the Evil Dead franchise, and a sequel to Evil Dead II, and follows Ash Williams (Campbell) as he is trapped in the Middle Ages and battles the undead in his quest to return to the present.

This is the version i have seen during my childhood on a vcr. In the 90s there was only one tv in my entire village and we watch this film along with entire villagers. It was an amazing horrifying experience for the villagers who only watch a few bollywood movies during that time

Our tutor at secondary school used to bring in horrors and old school martial arts, and sci fi plus some crazy genre stuff. He truly was a good educator in great films and also at teaching science. This is my all time favourite film. It was my childhood and rewatching it now fills me with so much excitement and nostalgia. It's the perfect blend of action, comedy and horror. I really hope that we will get future Evil Dead films that can recapture the magic of the classic trilogy, but especially this film. Anyone got any ideas on an actor that could do Ash Williams justice? Bruce Campbell will always be the GOAT, but I do wonder if there's anyone that could revive this character in his prime as he was here.

He's also older than Bruce Campbell, so how would he be portraying Ash in his prime? A 70 year old Ash is not an Ash in his prime... ... I mean... He's Mr Bean ffs lol

Army of Darkness is the 3rd film by Ivan Raimi, Sam Raimis brother. They wanted a departure from the Evil Dead name and it gave the main character Ash a chance to develop..now we are lucky to have the legend that is Ash in that cinematic universe! Check out Bubba Ho Tep also if you haven’t already, it has Bruce Campbell as the main character 👍 And yeah it’s supposed to be a black comedy, Ash is great but he’s a ridiculous person, a kinda anti hero

It's missing the scene where Ash goes off on his horse to meet Henry the red to request for his help. Henry's men throw a net over him to pull him from the horse and are going to kill him as he's wearing Arthurs breastplate, so they think hes one of arthurs men, but Henry steps in when he recognises it was Ash who had saved him earlier on in the film. At first Henry doesn't want to help his enemy, until Ash tells him that after the deadites are finished with Arthur's men they will inevitably come for Henry's They seem to have cut that scene and left it as just Ash saying we need to get Henry's help, then the audience has to just fill in the blank that Ash at some point must have went to meet Henry. I can't remember what version of army of darkness I saw that scene on, perhaps it may have been an deleted scene. Does anyone else remember this? I'm trying to search it out
