Army officer resigns due to US support for Israel’s war in Gaza | Dawn News English

A former officer of the United States Army, Major Harrison Mann, has revealed that his resignation several months ago was driven by what he described as his country’s unwavering support for Israel’s actions in Gaza.
In a letter posted on LinkedIn on Monday, Major Mann expressed “incredible shame and guilt” over the situation. He resigned from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) back in November.

Israel withdrew from Gaza and they had an open border with Egypt.... what did they do with the new found freedom? They built a war machine and attacked Israel, well not actually Israel, a bunch of civilians and babies who they decapitated. So some people might call Gaza a cage because they didn't know about the open border, but then again what do you do with people that are so violent they will cut the heads off innocent babies. You put them in a what... Hamas is a terrorist organization who is in control of the Gaza Strip at the request of its people, what were you expecting to happen....

I wish there were more people with some humanity to realise the consequences of their actions. Deep down everyone knows which side is evil, but noone within their social circle has the guts to speak up against it. I love and respect this army major and all like him that have stood up in support of Palestinian civilians and their massacre at hands of extremist right wing government. However, it saddens me that people with influential positions are leaving in all walks of life in support of Palestinians. If all decent people will leave their well deserved positions in society and become the outsiders. You will not be able to change a corrupt system. Because that’s what the corrupt people of a corrupt system want. They want no opposition from within. They want to drive out all morally decent voices out of the system. So they can then as insiders use it with greater brutality. You are much better off fighting for the rights of those that the corrupt system tries to crush from within the system than as an outsider. Don’t leave positions of influence & authority or where you can make a difference by being in position to make a difference. We need more good army personnel, politicians, lawyers, judges, doctors, educators, engineers, humanitarian, diplomats, law enforcement etc…etc. And we need you to join the corrupt system and stand toe to toe with them in every field for not only rights of all decent people but for betterment of the world. You can’t leave corrupt people in power by creating a vacuum. Stay and continue your struggle against corruption & injustice. In order to fight for justice you have to enter the system and fight a war from within. And refuse to obey any illegal or morally corrupt orders.
