dont forget the all important grab bag, your boilies and mint caked and chocolate and anything else that takes your fancy in a plastic bag in your smock pocket for on the move. i bought a equivalent from a camping shop and cost £12 and was half as good in energy and taste. So all in all ration packs for the win and beans and sausages and chocolate pudding the kings of the packs IMO.

Was good seeing janine involved in this , gave it a different feel: would be good to see more of her on this other than floating in the background, obviously it’s not possible in a car review, or when your both powering up a mountain. Definitely a fan of the Army ration packs, but the hot chocolate is a disappointment. Boil in bag food, defo eat from the bag. Less washing up and less opportunity to see what it looks like. Feel like the spork shouldn't be included in the army pack as it should be part of regular reused kit.

They’re about 4 years old now but I believe they were from Go Out Doors. Our 1st year we did a family camp we couldn’t fit a fold away table in the car so these seemed to do the job.

My Dad always took his own spice mix for his ration packs in the army. For years I used to drink the powdered lemon drink and hammer the Garibaldi biscuits as a kid😂 Army rations win for nostalgia alone👍

Ah isn't she precious....lol. Those Summit meals are rank. Ration pack wins for me and that's terrible. I make my own ration packs - but cheat, i use the drinks packs from the ration packs for cold drinks or those wee Robinson's cordial concentrates. I cook food, dehydrate it and store in the freezer - additive free. I use snacks i get like brunch bars 3 for a £1 from a local shop, I add a bag of nuts £1.69 Aldi to soft fruit packs Aldi £1.39 that lasts more than one meal. Yorkshire Tea, 3-in-1 Coffee on the go but real coffee at camp. As I use my bike to camp from most of the time I can take a few bits I like for comfort more than food as there's a good chance fish n chips or a pub meal will be on the cards - NEVER at Blackpool! There's a top pub in Chipping near Longridge called Tillotson's Arms - The Sunday Lunch is a challenge even for a fat knacker like me. In Longridge the Stonebridge Chippie is excellent and always packed. The Pendle Inn at Barley serves good beer but I don't think they do food anymore. I'm off to somewhere near Lakes this weekend. Have a gudden love yer videos.

We’re going static camping next week. We’ll be taking a gas cooker, chairs, table, the lot. There’s a time and place for frying bangers. Some mornings, or some activities you just need it on the go and I think nothing beats the army for that
