No one's disputing that they shouldn't have honored the guy and allowed him to throw the first pitch, but the way he did it was tasteless. I would expect some teenager to think it was funny throwing a first pitch like that, not an army vet who had experienced war and should have reverence for it, and the lives lost on both sides in any conflict.

You people dont quite understand that this guy was injured mentally from war. He did what he wanted and no one stopped him because of that and it would be totally rude and irresponsible too boo at this guy and it would definitely make him feel bad if no one cheered. We arent glorifying war, we are glorifying the absence of war that allows this man to live his life after facing near-death experiences (something most of you cant do). He survived wars (which were caused by reasons, good and bad) and now we celebrate the living who served our country so proudly. Also, dont judge the many (US citizens) by the actions of a few (politicians).

Whoever posted this just made a mistake. Civilians don't know the difference between any of us -- Soldiers, Marines, Sailors, Airmen, or Coast Guardsmen -- so I'm sure it was not meant as a slight. Although a very proud Soldier (101st ABN, C/326th Med Bn; Persian Gulf War vet), I would not have cared as I consider all veterans and active duty troops one thing -- Comrades. Besides, I think the important thing is that this wounded brother-in-arms was able to have a special moment and perhaps inspire others. Yes, branch is important to us, but this is about more than that in my humble view.

Keyboard warriors. Keyboard warriors for as far as the eye can see. These comments are despicable. Talking down on a man who served for your right to do so, and before you go on a rant about "the military is filled with rapists and murderers," try and take in the facts. Not every service member fights. Not every service member has seen combat. So your 1960's hippy view of war is irrelevant. As for all the conspiracists on this page? Why? For all we know those spewing hate are the brainwashed ones. Brainwashed to believe all military members are rapists and murderers. I more afraid of you than I am of them! Why? Because your diluted way of thinking endangers the betterment if humanity as a whole. You guys are so caught up on "down with the man" that your forget the reason why "the man" is there in the first place. I'm sorry but I'd rather be around strong civilized people instead of getting naked and "getting in touch with ones inner self" via drugs. The soldiers are men fighting and dying for their respective countries or beliefs. It's typically the higher-ups who send our countries to war who are the evil people, including the American government, and they aren't the ones receiving the explosion of shrapnel. It's good men on both sides that pay the ultimate price for evil.

I love the how the comments section generalize Americans. There's 300 million of us. Not all of us are the same. How Ugly We Are The crazy thing too is the US seems like it would be one of the hardest countries to generalize considering its diversity. There's no such thing as a Marine Sergeant First Class. That's an Army rank. At paygrade E7 in the Marine Corps, you're a Gunnery Sergeant. Correct your error.

He's not a Marine. The MLB KZbin intern screwed up. He's Army SFC Keaton.

Ralph Fiscus I'm completely aware of who he is. That post of mine can prevent further screwups in the future.

I'm also noting that the error still hasn't been fixed. Someone's not doing their job. Is this intern a journalism major? Because the lack of proper research makes me think yes.

***** I'm gonna suggest that you SHUT UP. Jarod is merely asking for the respect this man deserves by being addressed by his PROPER service branch and rank. You must be too stupid to understand, and/or never served or know anyone who has. Otherwise, YOU'D GET IT.

Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard. We are all part of the Armed Forces of the United States. The greatest fighting force in the world. I served in 3 different branches over my 22 year career and loved them all. So lets get off the "who better" debate. Every job is important, from the cooks to the special forces. We are all a cog in a machine. Take one away and it goes down. I salute you Brian Keaton and all who served honorably.

Why is everybody hating on this video? He served his term, got injured, and got the opportunity to pitch. The way he threw the ball wasn't for people to be pussies about it and get all offended. He did it because he was having a good time. 'MERICA!
