Heroin addict, 3 years sober. This video brought tears to my eyes. For an officer to take the time with someone who has an addiction is heartwarming. I'm a 68 year old Vietnam veteran who like a multitude of others was discharged with an unmanageable habit. It has taken close to 50 years for me to finally smile again. This video should be shown at all police academies. Thumbs up for the men in blue.

...warm heart to you Stephen Carter. My offspring at one point was into something and declared to me he would not continue college that I was paying for...at some point both his father and I did not know where he had lived..... By but the grace of his own innate light and power (however strong it was), he quit whatever he was on, he found work, and he was also willing to go to a six-week education program where he learned truck driving and he respected his instructor and his other classmates. He is a doting father now and works hard to support his family. I am beyond thankful!

@Zack Browning It was a very intense time. 9/11 was my very first day of boot camp ironically. I did my official swearing in in late August of 2001. From the gate we were trained for combat because of the situation at hand. We weren’t trained to operate enraged, that’s when mistakes happen. We were trained to operate with precision as failure wasn’t an option. The sense of brotherhood kicks in. We all have different jobs and have to come together as one unit.

Dupp you know nothing of that man and what he’s been through he’s going to die very likely because of the things he was subjected to fighting as a soldier in are marine core. As much as I don’t want to see him do that to himself what ever it takes to make his last days on this earth what he wants them to be he’s earned it and then some in my book. No matter how he copes I promise you he a braver man than most of us because he has the courage to come home and live what life he had left . no matter how he lived it drugs don’t make people bad everyone makes a choice on how to live there life. Just because People have an addiction doesn’t mean they are thieves. In the end he will not be judged by man.
