@James9399_ @MaximMasnica During the world cup he played once on the wing, once as a support striker alongside Cavani and once as a support striker alongside Suarez. After the world cup he’s turned into a lone striker and has scored 5 goals and assisted 2 in 6 games which are phenomenal numbers especially considering he’s played a world class Brazil side and a world cup winning Argentina side, besides the numbers his overall performances were great. I don’t include pre-world cup since he wasn’t a Liverpool player back then and he never played as a lone striker for Uruguay before. This just proves my point that he’s a confidence player that needs the right system. He came into a Liverpool side where the 9 (Firmino) has to create and feed the goalscoring wingers. This doesn’t suit him as his link-up play isn’t the best. Sure he’ll still need to do that for Slot, but 2 creative wingers (Bakayoko could be a great addition) and a 10 feeding Darwin as the lone striker will help him a lot. Sure he hasn’t been consistent in front of goal, but the talent is there, not only the Newcastle game, but Brentford, Bournemouth, Norwich, Sparta and plenty more games are proof. All he needs is the right assistance which Slot is known for. Just like he did with Gimenez and Boadu.

18 goals and 13 assists is pretty good, hit the post about 6 times missed penalties and open nets! If darwins finishing goes up by a few percent he'll be considered world class, he averages a goal or assist every 85 minutes, if he played every game up front for the full 90 minutes he would get up into the high twenty mark easily

What’s weird is that we bought him as the literal most clinical striker in Europe. He outperformed xg by like 12 goals. I remember he destroyed us at Anfield for Benfica. I don’t know what happened, maybe he needs more attention and advice. Hopefully slot will give him it. If you think about it we’ve not really had a starting out and out striker since Luis Suarez. So klopp’s never had one in his premier league time, maybe he just didn’t know how to manage him.

I think at the end, Klopp had given up on him hence why he wasn't starting him at the end. The chances he missed, cant remember the game, may have been ManU, I think he'd just had enough of him. Changing a the manager when it looked like things were finally start to click for Grav isn't great for him. I don't want to be harsh, because I like Darwin and want him to succeed, but I don't know if he'll ever be the striker he can be due to his seemingly low intelligence on and off the pitch. I've never seen a player that is 24, about to be 25 in June and still so raw. It's nice that he likes to run behind the defence, but his offside awareness is the worst I've ever seen. He's constantly offside, never seems to time his runs, just everything he does feels rushed. Absolutely zero composure and game intelligence, so if Slot can change that - he's a miracle worker.

Darwin dosnt speak good english so its going to be hard to teach him. He has been working with klopp for 2 years and isnt improving his finishing. He has been training with jota & salah for 2 years and hasnt learned anything from them interms of finishing & composure. I don't think you teach players new skills at this level. You just refine there abilities and get them to be consistent at what they natural are good at. I dont think were going to teach darwin to be a natural finisher like fowler or Sturriage. All we can do is get him to improve slighly. Like turn 15 goals to 20. goals consistently. This isnt enough to challange for the tittle. We have always had a talisment. from rush, fowler, owen suarez, torress salah. and on top of them we also always had a top side kick that was dangerous like counthino, sturriage, stevie sterling mane, etc. We really need to re do this attack once salah goes. I'd rather bite the bullet and repace nunez with someone like alexander isak, oshinhem, Viktor Gyökeres etc or go balls to the wall and try and get rdrygo from madrid if there selling

Nunez scored 21 and assisted 12 goals in an unspectacular season. He also improved from the season before. I'm not a fan of the hate he gets. He's not the finished article, he's not Haaland, but if he progresses again we are talking 25+ goals and 15 assists making him better than 95% of the strikers in Europe. He's already in the top 10% statistically. So yeah he looks chaotic and he is frustrating to watch sometimes, but they are not the stats of a bad player. He works hard, he is improving so I'm optimistic about Nunez.

Darwin has frightening potential. It would be irresponsible to not try and improve him. He can be legendary if he could just finish most of those gazzilions of chances. He's still young so his best professional years are ahead of him. He already excels in counter-pressing. Though... details won't help him. It's disregard for detail that will unshackle him. He thinks too much once he has to put it into the net.

Darwin is too good to give up on. WIth Mo likely to leave or as is obvious, he's becoming less effective, we need someone who can score. Jota is a better goalscorer, we all know that, but he's also injury prone. If I was Slot, I'd convince Darwin to give him one season to improve his goalscoring. His alround ability is superior to Haaland but not where it really counts.

Striker duties were split between Dessers and Linssen during Slot's first season, not Dessers and Jahanbakhsh. Linssen was actually very important in Slot's pressing game in his first season.

Darwin has striker mentality - he wants to be the main man. I don't think he's happy in a rotation system and rather than thriving from competition like some others do he seems to let it get to him even if he hides it well behind a mask of arrogance (not an insult btw). When he's on form he's unbelievable and yes he needs to improve his conversion rate because there's fine lines between a win/draw/lose and the issue Liverpool had last season across the whole squad and not just Darwin was putting away chances that would have killed a game. Especially when we got into a terrible habit of going 1-0 down for what felt like 90% of the season.
