Little known fact: This episode is based on the original pilot of Hey Arnold!. Also, that pilot is based on a comic that Craig Bartlett drew in October of 1991. I did a ton of research about Hey Arnold! for my most recent video. :D

I love what a pragmatic, spacey kid Arnold was in season 1. I know they downplayed his flaws and quirks in later seasons, but to me, they made him a more appealing character.

Yeah honestly, Arnold felt like he had more personality in the first season before they sort of made him a one dimensional straight kid. And the other character were outrageous enough that it didn’t really affect the shows stories and humor, but Arnold was a much more interesting character in the earlier seasons.
