One thing I never understood about Stallone in his Prime is that he never did a historic/fantasy-esque movie like Conan The Barbarian, or one set in ancient Rome (since he has Italian heritage). I always thought that was a missed opportunity. Stallone as a Centurion or Roman General campaigning against the Barbarians led by Dolph Lundgren or Ralf Moeller would have been incredible in that unique era of action stars. In fact something like the Gladiator (2000) would have suited him very nicely.
@dragonballsuper15192 жыл бұрын
@Bruce there is literally an ancient Roman painting that looks exactly like Stallone. In fact its a popular thing on the internet to compare Stallone to ancient Roman statues and paintings because of his distinct Italian features.
@JK-br1mu2 жыл бұрын
He wouldn't be taken seriously as a real historical figure. Something like Conan might have worked though.
@dragonballsuper15192 жыл бұрын
@@JK-br1mu don't know about that, Copland showed he could act a serious role. If Gladiator had been filmed 10 years earlier with Stallone in Crowe's role, it would have been a certified hit, though distinctly Stallone-esque. I wish he had something similar like Conan, but maybe trying to distance himself from his rival was precisely the reason why he didn't.

This. It makes him so relatable. Also, over the years he has been constantly putting out instructive and motivational material that's not about "how to be Mister Universe like me" but real down-to-earth advice for people who just want to be a little fitter. He isn't out there saying "work harder, work your fucking ass off to be successful" - he's saying "Try to get something done today. You got something done today? Good on you, that's the way to go!" So he's not just relatable but also actively relates to people. You can always see it in the way he words his replies and advice to fans.

I love that he straight up just calls the movie a piece of shit. Far too many celebrities in Hollywood these days seem like they can't ever say anything negative at all

It's interesting to see how they explain the competition about their rival with so much humor.

It was started by Sly first, he just hated Arnold, couldn't stand him . . . so their back n forth went on for 20-odd years until Sly figured something out . . . He and Arnold were the exact same kind of personality. They've been friends since burying the hatchet.

Saying thank you to a crowd who cheers for anything they hear shows you how grounded and humble he is.
@markv12743 ай бұрын
"Grounded" and "humble" are words that do not describe Arnold. Of course he said "thank you". What else is he going to say? A "grounded and humble" person wouldn't say "screw your freedoms!"

In these days people often remembering old movies and admits, that they were awesome despite the fact that media trashed those movies on their release, movies like Last Action Hero or Cable Guy. I strongly believe that "Stop or my Mom will shoot" is a great comedy, and I think Arnie and Sly should rewatch that flick

My favorite thing about Arnold is that when his movies play in his home country they dub over his voice. Apparently in Arnold's country he sounds like a hillbilly.

One year later, Sylvester Stallone did "Cliffhanger" which was a huge box office and critical success, and Arnold did "Last Action Hero" which was not.

But one year later Stallone did The Specialist, which was bad and not so successfull. And Schwarzenegger did True Lies, an amazing fun movie with huge box office and critical success and also he got nominated for a golden globe for "Junior"
@Michael-et2uj2 жыл бұрын
@@Locadel2003 The rivalry between Stallone and Schwarzenegger definitely gave both of them a creative edge and made them much more interesting action stars than they would've been just on their own. That's one thing that I feel is glaringly missing in Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's career.
