if I were to continue it as a Sin function, how should we arrive at C? Please explain

I understood everything but what do I plug in as C? If it’s cosine is it just 1?

And if you want to transform a cos into a sin, know that sin(90-x)=cosx. So in this case, y=-8.5sin(90-7.2x)+10.5. That's something I wish my teacher tought me 2 weeks ago...

why didnt you simply write the Sin function (as it starts at the minimum) and took an extra step to write a Cos function by any chance?
@NerdStuff3141
@NerdStuff3141 10 ай бұрын
A cos function starts at the minimum. A sin function starts at the midline which would be 10.5 in this scenario.

Sir, why do we apply the strech to the x value (or t in this case) to the phase shift aswell? Surely its only the x thats being streched

Formula is incorrect. Should be ....y = A sin B(x-c/B)+ D

Im pretty sure if you were using cos the a would be positive and the C would be 25? Since this graph started at (0,2) went to (25,19) then back down to (50,2). So since the parent Cos graph starts at the maximum you would have to say the maximum is (25,19) and so the graph is shifted 25 to the right making C=25, and A would still be positive because the graph starts at a maximum still and not a minimum. Am I doing something wrong? I understand what you did, I just want to know if this way works or not.

what do i do if theres no information about the time? My problem tells me that the rider is on the ferris wheel for two revolutions, but it doesn't say how long it would take or anything like that, help.

Interesting. Can you provide a bit more clarity on what your question asks? There must be some way to determine the period.
@annar193
@annar193 4 жыл бұрын
2 revolutions = 2 cycles through the entire wheel. Once cycle goes through 2pi radians, so 2 revs would be the same as 2 cycles, or 4pi. Treat that as your B value.

What does the c stand for?
@ArnoldTutoring
@ArnoldTutoring 5 жыл бұрын
Hi! You can think of the c as the horizontal shift of the graph from the normal starting point of either the sine or cosine graph.
