Good god, Rhudar is but savage in terms of combat. The troops may not look elite, but as they say dont judge a book by its cover. Despite the lack of armor on them, they can still pretty much wreck lives and take names. Im beginning to like them as a faction

Exactly what happened to me. I saw an epic battle simulator video first. Clicked on a third age video. Now, about 6 months later, I have medieval 2, empire, Napoleon, attila, and mount and blade with all the dlc. Pixie led me to a whole new world of video games.

Before I first found your channel, I always wanted to watch a LOTR game that could really simulate large scale battles. And then I saw my first Third Age video, courtesy of Pixie Poo. It felt like I struck gold because it was exactly the game that I wished was out there. Today, I still love Third Age and will soon be able to play it once I finish building my PC.

So, What I have taken from this is. Rhudaur: needs Pike nerf, Maybe lower the number of throwable axes and javelins. Arthedain: Better Pike defense, Stronger Dismounted knights (however they went against pikes so cannot know for sure). Cardolen: Bodyguard could have a little increased attack and (if applicable) Missile defense.

People tend to read too much into these scenarios. If this was 2v2 the Arthedain/Cardolan would have won with 40-50% remaining. The mod is balanced for multiplayer generally, not individual scenarios which are usually made with entertainment in mind.

I think MTW2 engine has a bug where pikemen dont preform well when fighting down a slope. This may explain why the elite pikemen got so soundly beaten

Jmonster, I am well aware that I am doing the same thing, however until I see a field battle/more even battle I wont be able to know for sure, I have merely listed out what I think are some viable changes based on what I have seen. Thongger, I believe so, Its a shame but they dont seem to do as well in other total wars on even ground either. Its Just a pikemen thing. Also to both, did the "good guys" have any spearmen?

This could fit into the story line, before the fall of the Arnorian kingdom, there was a civil war, between the two sons, though they fought for years they were watched by an unknown foe... when the civil war ended the armies were weak and small, thus the end of the arnorian kingdom came to an end... as the unknown foe sieged the castle, slaying every last arnorian spotted...

The correct pronunciations for the three provinces of Arnor are: Arthedain (Aw-erth-eh-dine), Cardolan (Caw-er-doe-lawn), and Rhudaur (Roo-dow-er). For Arthedain, Arth is like the name Garth, the e is like eh, the dain is like dine as in dining out. For Cardolan, Car is like the vehicle, do is like doe a female deer, and lan is like a green lawn. For Rhudaur, Rhu is like roo as in rooster, and daur is like dour (as in grim personality), or sour with a d.

I've heard that the tv show may focus on Aragorn's life, which would be epic, as we would see Rivendell, Eriador, Rohan, Gondor, Harad, Umbar and Rhûn. That would make an incredible multi-season tv show, but I would be quite upset if it doesn't stick with the Jackson universe.

Some information from Tolkien gateway... The eldest, Amlaith, claimed Kingship over all Arnor but was reduced to only ruling the region of Arthedain as his kingdom, while the other sons founded the breakaway kingdoms of Cardolan and Rhudaur. Arnor was refounded de jure by Arthedain's king Argeleb I, when Cardolan placed itself under the suzerainty of Arthedain.

I think Cardolan is more a southern faction based on trading and merchants while rudhaur is more a northen faction who lives in the mountains. ( I don't know the lore)
