3000? Most of the indicators are just variations of each other. Best is RSI, Stochstic RSI, MACD and bollingers

I've looked at the AROON. I like it because of its sharp signals rather then curved oscillations. I don't use it however because there re better indicators and I prefer Stochastic, with Barry's settings, and the CCI indicators. Thanks for this lesson Barry!

Good concepts for improvement but for forex on the daily chart I find that even using extreme values gives a late entry and exit signal. Main problem appears the period setting of 25. On MT4 the default setting is 14 and works much better. Lower settings work better in some cases but then give too many whipsaws.

Yes, for every advantage, there's a disadvantage! As long as you're aware of that, you can make a choice one way or the other and master it.

I tried using the Aroon for a while with 100, 25, and 10 periods with the usual signal suggestions. Bought my broker a dingey. Bailed ship before I bought him a yacht. Look forward to seeing how the new signals perform.

Hi Billy, the best time interval of your chart is determined by 3 criteria, but none of them have to do with this indicator.

Correct - the indicator gives readings based on the time interval of the chart on which it's plotted.

Dear Berry; I LOVE your videos. I am a moroon, even after 3 years into stock chart reading. But you have helped me a lot learn at least what not to do. I have yet to "do whats right" though, as stocks are like rabbits- they're damned hard to catch. Its been an expensive 3 year education though. I still look toward to day that a stock will go up for me. Seems mysterious that even when all indications are pointing to "profit" Up Up up.... they all take a slow dive and then level off. Well thei time Im gonna sit on them till they rise up! QUIESTION: I use aroon, and WHAT IS the "Period" setting? I have used all 2, 10, 7, 14, and now playing with 25. Uh? What is "Period"? Does that means "days"? I usually watch the 10m, 30, 1hr, and DAY charts and bounce between them. As to this "Period" setting, what is it? I only have this ONE setting... 20 up and 20 down. ROSS PS. Hi Ross, you're way too hard on yourself! The most standard period for Aroon is 25. The formula in the case of this particular indicator is ((N - bars Since N-bar High) / N) x 100, for Aroon Up, AND ((N - Bars Since N-bar Low) / N) x 100, for Aroon Down, where "N" is the number of bars you choose, such as "25" in my example.
