I leave South Australia and venture onto Victoria's potholed byways in search dry windy roads and more big things. There might even be an odd smile but nothing too crazy.

Dam You , you good man you. some how j happened to stumble here and found myself glued to the Pc for the first 7 glorious episodes of your adventure . Thumbs up for a entertaining watch , the dry whit & faint sarcasm was a refreshing change and pleasure to the usual over hyped , over exaggerated claptrap on KZbin. my only regret is i now have to wait for the next episode but luckily i subbed haha , keep up the good work and will look forward to the rest of the journey 👍

When the mates and I did the GOR we had a look at the twelve apostles and it was a rainy day similar to yours. The place was choc a block full of Asians waving selfy sticks around everywhere, the joy flight helicopters were buzzing overhead, it was horrible. I reckon if you were a Vietnam Vet you would have been having nightmare flashbacks!

I actually shot a whole rant about the 12 Apostles in the carpark but I decided a little bit of whinging goes a long way.
@johnstaring3210

Agree, the 12 Apostles and other attractions are these days over-run with rude, loud, and littering tourists of mostly Asian stock. They are happy to elbow you out of the way so they can get selfies on the fence line at lookouts. They drive the wrong way around the roundabouts and generally cause chaos, they park on crests and blind corners to stop and take photos. I'm glad I have travelled that way many times in the past, I really don't want to (won't) go back there.

@@johnstaring3210 Yep, lets ask the Balinese about Aussie visitors in their home land? The elbowing and jostling of the Chinese is a cultural thing from living in a country with 1.5 billion people. Having travelled to China 8 times...when you go to China (which is amazing!!) and you also jostle and elbow and fight your way. The biggest issue is as an Aussie you sometime end up flattening some light weight Chinese person.

The wind turbines never go flat out, once they reach a certain speed they are prevented from turning, and thus only produce power when the wind is blowing between 5 and I think 20 knots.

I have a DJI Air2s. It’s a beaut! Biggest problem with the drone is the time involved in stopping and flying it. To get 30 seconds of video is a fifteen minute process but it’s worth it I think.

@@chrissybabe8568 I think South Australia has the problem of often producing too much renewable energy during the day which probably explains the idle turbines. I should point out I’m not an electrical network engineer so I might be wrong. Still reckon they’re impressive looking structures though.

@@abitofadetour7315 You may be right. SA seriously needs to be looking at some way to store this excess (and not using batteries because that just compounds the problem of using up the worlds resources and only lasts a 1/4 of the life of a wind turbine). Even if inefficient pumped hydro will outlast the wind turbine life of 20-25 odd years by a good margin.
@abitofadetour7315

@@chrissybabe8568 It’s a solvable problem I’m sure, and one day in the not too distant future people will talk in amazement about the time we all burnt stuff to produce energy.
