Thanks for your great video's on the le Puy and the Frances. Watched them all with great enjoyment. You fortified my plans to return to Spain and do a Camino again. Maybe see you someday on the Meseta. My favorite stretch too :)

Spanish girl here!! The price you mention about the pilgrim menu nowadays equates the price a "menu del dia" has (which makes a lot of sense since they are similar concepts), so I find it interesting to mention in case someone doesn't know what a menu del dia is (both of you probably know better than me how much a menu del dia costs right now in the camino, taking into account the experience you carry on your backs). Wonderful video!! I'm trying to watch camino videos to motivate me start planning again because this past summer i would have walked my first one if it wasn't for a slip and injury i had during the first 40 minutes of it. Your channel is ond of my go-to's, so thanks a lot!! 😊
@DaysWeSpend7 ай бұрын
Thanks so much! We hope you have better luck on your next Camino. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it. Good point about the Menu del Dia. We've seen a range of prices on the Camino, often from 12-18 euros (18 if it's fancy!).

Wow, I also tracked all of my expenses and I spent 1100 Euros on water over 2 months of walking. My 3 months, which was a combo of walking 1/2 of the Frances, 1/4 of the Norte, and time hanging out in Portugal and 3 weeks staying in a friend's flat in France was $10,000 US. And I skimped! (I thought!)

Yeah everyone is different and the Caminos can change a lot. That seems like a lot of expensive water though! Did you ever fill up at the fountains?
@petermeusburger982122 күн бұрын
pay for water? This high amount, why? The water from the tube is good to drink an there are a lot of springs everywhere with portable water. I spent the money for Estrella, much more fun!

Ha! No fact checking from me, and I did watch “every second of your journey” from Le Puy-en-Velay to SdC. Who could/would stop mid stream?!? Thanks for letting us come along on your caminos aventuras. Just great stuff. My question is this: while my Spanish is 🤙🏽, my French is, eh, better than some, worse than others. Who among your 4some was the French go-to person and how necessary was it on the Podiensis? Mil gracias, jovenazos!
@DaysWeSpend4 ай бұрын
Thank you so much!! A lot of people don’t have enough time off to do the full thing. It’s super common for local French people to walk a week each year. Shawn and Hans were our French speakers. It was very very helpful for calling gites for reservations. You can also ask the gite owners to help you make reservations on the phone. we did that once for Figeac when we struggled to find a place for 4.

A single person will spend more, not being able to share expenses. thanks for this run down though, very helpful.
@DaysWeSpend7 ай бұрын
Actually, the Camino has a surprisingly similar cost for single and couple travelers. Albergues and pilgrim meals are always charged per person. And a lot of solo pilgrims “team up” with other pilgrims to share cooking and nicer accommodation expenses along the way!

When you see the tapas on the bar, do you help yourself like a buffet? or do you tell them which ones you want and they serve it to you or bring it to the table? I keep asking all the questions! I just need to go...
@DaysWeSpend6 ай бұрын
Great question! You always tell them which ones you want. You can do that at the bar, or at a table. Often, they'll plate them for you and bring it to your table.

Your content on camino Frances is helping me now planning to hike a portion (burgos to Leon) end of April to May. What do you think the weather is that time? Just wondering if I can be ultralight with the weather?
@DaysWeSpend5 ай бұрын
It's always ultralight weather! Although, you may want to bring a warmer sleep system (maybe a sleeping bag). You might get some rain, might get some cold days, might get some hot days. The meseta is super variable.
