I mean it'd be pretty on par with how they revealed the switch, I'm not sure why people are surprised at this. Officially got unveiled in october 2016 and launched on March 2017, gives em a solid half a year to advertise what it's capable of and any games specifically being made for it. We still haven't even seen a second of pokemon legends either, so unless they really plan on waiting a whole year to show us gameplay for it (which I doubt), they have to be showing it in the next few months at least.

You don’t typically see this many inside sources and outlets reciprocating the same info for Nintendo unless it’s true. There’s prime remastered & switch pro as ex’s otherwise, but Switch 2 sorta needs to happen so I think this is different

They also did the museum and Indie world, and trailers for all the bigger games in the direct except for DK Country which... lets be honest would make a sucky direct, and metroid prime 4 which will likely be a cross release. So honestly I don't see how it could be later than September imo...

It won't even come close to the power of the OG Xbox One from 2013, and no fancy DLSS either. It will be an extremely 'modest' improvement over the current Switch, so barely noticeable. It will have a very unimpressive gimmick in order to 'justify' Nintendo keeping their hardware back yet another generation. The fanboys who are currently acting like this thing will be uber powerful are in denial - but once it's revealed they'll suddenly change their tune and go back to the same spiel about "Graphics don't matter!" and "Muh artstyle means Animal Crossing has better graphics than GTA6". Same thing that's been going on since the Wii.

I find really it hard to believe that the system will be revealed this month or next month considering the holidays are really packed with major first party software and I don't think they'd be dumb enough to cannibalize sales of their own games like that by announcing a system during the middle of it. It just doesn't add up. Like, I would've believed it if the current schedule was empty, but since there's a lot to play (and new games to play at that too, none of these are rereleases) that just seems doubtful that they'd do it and it honestly just makes me think they'd do it in January.

For better or for worse it's too big enough that it'll always be an instant smash hit regardless of anything, and that was the same year that Pokémon GO took off extremely hard so that made Sun & Moon sell millions and millions. Other than that the 3DS was losing steam and no other first party release at that time sold all too well and all focus was on Switch after it got announced. The same thing will happen when the Switch 2 gets revealed where all focus will be on that system and then no one will care about the current Switch anymore therefore it's gonna have things to lose like more game sales and stuff. Even if the Switch 2 is gonna have backwards compatibility (which is completely likely) that still wouldn't help the games that are still being made exclusively for the current Switch because most people will have their eyes on the next gen stuff and buy those instead.

Personnaly, i don't think they will do a "Switch 2". But i think they will keep the hybrid console idea but with a new twist, at least a little more powerful than the Switch and there's chances we will have an OLED screen since we have a Switch OLED. But due to the success of the Switch that we have, i would'nt be surprised that they will keep the hybrid console idea. Like i said, i think it will be a new hybrid console with a new twist. Even if it's not an OLED screen, 1080p is is good for me.

Don't expect any Switch 2 reveal until current Switch starts selling worse than Wii U for a straight year. Then we'll finally get a price drop for the first time ever. If sales don't go up much after that for another full year, then we will get a Switch 2 reveal, which will release about a year after that. And when it does finally release in four or five years, it will still be way less powerful than the OG Xbox One from 2013.

No. The CEO of Nintendo said that it will be revealed (not released) this fiscal year, which ends in March 2025. If it gets announced in March it gets released no later than August.

I think a switch 2 makes sense if you look at their console history. They usually make a console and then try to build on the foundation before moving onto something new. NES/SNES, GB/GBA, Wii/Wii U, DS/3DS. Would make sense for them to make a switch follow up.

The year is definitely winding down so I expect to switch successor presentation soon this month. i’m definitely roughing at the mouth and chomping at the bit for some good Nintendo news on the system directly from them soon. If they announced that the system has backwards compatibility to play original switch games then it’s definitely a done deal and switch software sales will continue to spike up in preparation for the system hell, if they say they’re gonna lower the price of the original switch, models is definitely a good plus in the fact that Nintendo won this year
