The ARP 2500 was the flagship modular synthesizer from ARP throughout the 1970s.
This is part 1 of a two part video series on the Behringer clone of the ARP 2500 1050 Mix-Sequencer.
Part 1 review every control on the 1050 Mix-Sequencer in detail
Part 2 demonstrates the three example applications from the original 1970's ARP 2500 Owners Manual.
a free PDF of this manual is available here:
guitarfool.com/ARP2500.html
see the three PDFs on the top left of this page.
here is the PDF of the script for this video, if you're interested:
drive.google.com/file/d/1mIO4...
It includes the configuration for each of the three examples.

great rundown - i was beta on all 3 of these units as with the majority of the #behringer synths released to date, supreme fun they are and many happy accidents and intentional ideas are waiting for users , thankyou ARP for wonderful ideas and thankyou Behringer for bringing them upto date at an affordable price for folk

I wish people stopped calling the Behringer 2600 a clone (I assume of the original ARP 2600). It is not, the same way as the Korg ARP 2600 FS and M versions are not, although the FS comes close. A clone means an exact copy and the Behringer isn't. Doesn't make it a bad synthesizer of course. It has a few additional features the ARP 2600 didn't have, that makes it even more versatile than the original 2600, and it is super affordable, making it possible for people to experience what it is like to use a 2600 for sure. The Behringer 2500 series modules could possibly considered clones of the originals given that they use exactly the same circuitry as the original, albeit in the slightly smaller format (Eurorack).

Hi O.Z. I am enjoying rewatching this video and noticing the way you have the 1050 wired into the 2600. Your focus of course is on the 1050 but the other components of this patch are truly fascinating. Especially noticing the clpck out from the 1050 to the preamp in and then on to the S&H input. This is a great use of resources in the 2600. You do not explain your technique here but it would make a great discussion. Merry Christmas and all the best. Cheers

i have trouble trying to figure out what are the creative capabilities of the mix - sequencer ?
@ozhalljr
@ozhalljr Жыл бұрын
@smartti1970 First, the 1050 is a great value ($99) as a dual 4:1 or single 8:1 mixer, because it has easily accessible mutes, as well as the red "solo" button (to access a single channel exclusively). It gets a lot better because you can have the 1027 seq ($99) drive the "on channel" of the 1050, so you can switch inputs and levels at each step of the sequence. That's got a lot of creative potential. This feature is sometimes called an "Event" sequencer because each channel can be a completely separate audio (or CV) content. E.g. different radio channels, different synth voices, different channels from a multi-track recorder or DAW. CV could be different LFOs, ADSRs or even audio range VCOs, which are used to modulate other VCOs, VCFs, VCAs, etc. The Event sequencer is probably the most radical creative tool in the 1050 "tool box". Does that help?

Hi 🙂 This video is going to be interesting, I've just bought a Behringer 2600 last week and I'm loving learning it. I'm interested in getting some 2500 modules later to extend the setup... Please can I ask you what case (including size) are you using for housing the equipment?
@ozhalljr
@ozhalljr Жыл бұрын
I have several. Most often I use a "Tiptop Happy Ending" kit: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/HappyEndSV--tiptop-audio-happy-ending-kit-silver This will fit into a rack (I have my B2600 in a rack with one of these, so I can add a 1027 sequencer and a 1050 mix-sequencer). If you think you will go farther than a single one of these, This is a good alternative: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/EuroRackGo--behringer-eurorack-go-mobile-2x140-hp-eurorack-case which has over triple the capacity of a single tip top U3 rack for only $100 more
