The next platform for the ARP ODYSSEY is iOS. We want the unforgettable ARP sound to be easily available on a device that as many as possible of today's players can obtain; this resulted in the "ARP ODYSSEi" app for iPad / iPhone. Based on the revived ARP ODYSSEY, we used KORG's proprietary CMT circuit modeling technology to reproduce the analog feeling and sound of the original as closely as possible. We've also given it numerous enhancements that are possible only with software, such as long-awaited polyphony and built-in effects.

TBH in terms of sound quality I don't think there's any difference from AU to OIS synths. I have the M1 AU and the M1 OIS app there's no difference. I'd say they are just further down the road of development for AU/VST. I use iPad synths now in my live setup, mainly M1, Synthmaster Player , Geoshred and Module. I'm looking forward to the weekend to try out the Odyssei. Deffinately not toys anymore some of the sounds are more suitable for certain things than my hardware keyboard Roland Fa-06

Yes, the Moog Model 15 app is a good exampel. Sounds fantastisch and comes with MPE. The performence options and midi on those iOS apps is often better than on my desktop synths. That said, i think the best quality of an emulation of a synth is U-he Repro-1....some day i hope U-he makes an iOS synth. IOS sucks for sample libraries but for synths it is a great tool!

Not tried Repro sounds cool. Yeah for grand pianos etc it's not good the iPad I think it's the lack of memory that's the problem, although I've got the 128GB iPad so I'd be quite happy if someone could do a 10GB grand piano for iOS.

Gforce Software already have a VST/AU Arp Odyssey emulation, I think this is probably why exclusive to IOS

Yep, and the iOS version is much better, especially the GUI! But iOS seems to be the money maker for the future. Moog goes the same way. Now only Roland and Yamaha should come in and i will buy an iPad Pro for synths only 😬

I hope the next one comes with 3D touch. I mean synths like U-he stuff or Dune 2 f.e. i think are much better but iOS synths are mostly so much better for live performence. F.e. the sequencer in the Oddyseei app! While in most of the desktop tools you have to change each step by a click and point, you can just draw above the sequencer with your finger on iOS. The FX on iOS are crap but i also think i will get me an iPad Pro finally to record those gems into Logic and using my favourite FX to bring it to a better level.
