As much as I would love to be able to play an instrument, reality tells me that I was born to be in the audience. ❤❤

Mark, I’d very much like to hear you play “Somewhere only We Know” and “Unstoppable” and, of course, anything by John Denver 🥰

Might have to look into those and make an arrangement:)

By the way, I played John D. covers at college in the coffee house. 😊

Amazing! What is the large, grey circle that shows up on the center string in some of the chord visuals? It didn't look like you were putting a finger on that string ...

That’s the fret marker, I have round fret inlays on my chapman stick, but they can also be linear:)

Aha, cool! Thank you, and keep up the great work! My next extra $4k (lol) will definitely be going to a Chapman Stick!

Mark, can you please tell me what material this stick is made of? Is it bamboo? Thank you🙏🏻

They come in all different types of wood. The one in this video is Steffi’s Bamboo Stick. I normally play a rosewood. But they also have maple, paduak, machiche, wenge and a few more. It only affects the weight and the looks, not the sound.

i'm loving this tutorials, i just started learning the chapman stick a couple of months ago, go you have any advice in regards on how to posture and the arm position, i feel a little bit of tension on my left hand, so i'm wondering if there is something i can do. Also I would really love to know the reasoning behind choosing a specific tuning. Thanks a lot!! Much love from Uruguay!

Really glad you enjoyed it. I will be coming out with a video soon on how to hold the Chapman Stick and the different options. For now though I would make sure your wrist is not bent. if your left wrist is bending too much try to shorten the strap on your Chapman stick. It should put a little bit less strain on your wrist.
