Until watching this video i have never heard of this incident. The very first line really hooked me. A cop was murdered and there's only 2 weapons charges? Really? So, before jumping to conclusions i waited to hear the rest of the report. At first it was confirmed. Only 2 weapons charges in this murder. Then, it was revealed... He wasn't the shooter. So, why no felony murder charges then? I listen more... He was involved. He was driving. He got pulled over. Someone else shot him. And the reasoning for no felony murder charges is.... Dude pulled the "i dunno no hobo" defense... He was involved in this murder in every aspect, except "knowing" the guy who did the shooting?? And saying, "I don't know this guy" was enough to spare him of murder charges, but not enough to spare him the weapons charges? Notice how they didn't specify what 2 charges they were or even the reason for them? I'm willing to bet they had to charge this guy with something cuz he was there and he didn't have any weapons (assuming the hitchhiker story is true) and the weapons were only on the hitchhiker... But, if sticking him with those just because... Why not just go all in and do the murder charge, too? There was a time when those felony murder charges were tacked on for the tiniest thing. Drivers of vehicles were certainly never spared...
