The police *do* care
@evilsharkey89543 жыл бұрын
The police don’t even need to do the diving, since it’s a specialized skill. They can outsource that work. When Otis Redding’s plane went down over Lake Monona in Wisconsin, the police contacted a local dive club and offered a warm boat, food, and tank refills if the team would help retrieve the wreckage and bodies. They happily volunteered, even though it was very cold out. My dad was part of the team. They held onto an anchored rope I think 20 feet apart and made a circle. On the next pass, the switched positions so they guys on the outside of the circle were on the inside. All of the deceased and most of the wreckage were retrieved.

Two years ago a friend of mine went missing under suspicious circumstances. It took almost a year to get answers, but she was found floating, hardly recognizable, in the harbour of the city she was last seen in.... found by a worker on the pier. Really does raise questions as to how hard the police really do look.
@greenfuzz133 жыл бұрын
To be fair, a body can sink and move with the currents. If the water isn't too cold to inhibit decomposition, bacteria within the body will form gas which will provide buoyancy and allow the body to rise to the surface where it will be found sometimes weeks later. It's very hard to find a submerged body in even a small body of water particularly where there is low visibility. I observed that in almost every location in this documentary the water is turgid. I met someone several years ago who told me his elderly father went missing 10 years previously to our meeting. He left his home one morning to drive his pickup to a doctor's appointment about 20-30 miles away. He was never seen again and this man was heartbroken. My first thought was, "Drag the rivers and any body of water within the range of his truck's fuel mileage. I haven't spoken to this person again and I don't know what action he might have taken.

That's so weird I came by your comment because the same damn thing happened in my life unfortunately! Chillicothe, Ohio my 2nd mom, my bestfriends mom, went missing and they didn't find her for almost a year and was found in the river not far from where she went missing but LEO didn't care to really search honestly! Smh. Her names Linda Roach and she'll forever me loved and missed as will my bestfriend, her daughter, Stephanie!
Last year there was an accident in Kenya (where I'm from) whereby a vehicle had drove into the ocean. They literally brought in the navy to pull out the car but they failed miserably. Private Divers were the ones who succeeded. Unfortunately, the passengers died. It was a mother and her daughter.

our Sar is also funded by volunteer civilians and donated or out of their pocket equipment to work with.they have literally done the hard and dangerous work of the police and recovered and closed many cases. I guess my point is every county or sector at least should get some help with the monetary part as the labor is voluntary.the state/fed govt especially say it's not in there budget to help with such a group because of lack of money, I said in a letter to the proper channels if that's true that the system is barely getting by where did the 4.2 billion we gave Ukraine in April come from?no response as of yet.
