The touchdown plate is a homerun. I've been on sets were the VCT doesn't always love to lock this really fixes a lot of the problems but with the speed that the VCT offered.

Ah this reminds me of that time Arri released the perfect camera. It had an accessible ND switch on the front of the camera, programmable switches next to the operators right eye, built in XLR with phantom power, balanced perfectly on the shoulder, tool-less top and bottom plates AND was actually affordable and used affordable media…..

Awesome stuff. Amira has the best ergonomics of any camera and it's great that that is now continued with A35.

I really like the Touchdown tripod mount! It may very much be sacrilege to say, but I would love that system on my existing Sony cameras as they look incredibly easy to use, Whilst odd to say, but it reminds me very much of a modern excavator bucket attachment system where slop is also not welcome and a tight fit essential.

Is the TRP/TBP system compatible with the Amira? I’m so fed up with wobble on my VCT, I would be prepared to upgrade my Amira.

Hey Christopher - the TBP-1 is only compatible with the ALEXA Mini, ALEXA Mini LF and ALEXA 35. We don't have plans to make a version for the AMIRA sorry!
