What a great presentation. Very educative. I remember the Taskers, men and women leaving home at 4a.m to weed,burn the fields to kill off snakes and "cut cane" .They came home with faces,hands and clothes black with grime. Men and women worked the cane fields. They were paid a pittance but the men,women and children taken from Africa were paid nothing. We must educate the young ones, as you are doing, that Africans and Indians made Trinidad what has become Their lunch kit was sada roti and pepper sauce with a calabash filled with rain water They walked from Tacarigua to Tunapuna or Caroni barefooted to survive. God bless our ancestors from Africa and India who made Trinidad a fantastic place to live, work and invest in business.

Another great piece of Trini 🇹🇹📚 history. By the way Indentured Servitude is also where the term "Coolie" came from.
@antonjoseph33077 ай бұрын
Wrong, Its a well known word on dock sites and warehouses for laborers who offload and load goods onto ships, trains etc. Basically grunt workers.
@PoloNius677 ай бұрын
@@antonjoseph3307 I am not wrong. Perhaps you should do some historical research for yourself. I'll start by providing a work entitled: Coolie Woman, author Gaiutra Bahadur. The usage of the term in the Caribbean was greatly associated with British indentured servitude.This is what I meant by the origin of the term.

They should do one one the patois _"creole"_ language in Trinidad. In those days patois wouldve been the main language in trinidad and west indies (or at least 50/50) I wonder how that language was aquired by the indians or if they spoke it at all? 🤔
