I noticed all the slings and stocks being tossed aside why? Why not include them with the gun they were on? I know I love getting an old gun with the old sling still attached. A worn sling helps tell a guns story. Just like the tacks and carvings on the stock.

It's nice to see that market is still alive, and we've seen prices leap higher every year for this stuff. The history behind these rifles is fascinating to read about, and the bravery that the soldiers had who were carrying them into battle easily humbles a man. I just saw something very interesting I wanted to share with you. OWS offers a video hand select option where they will call you over video on an agreed upon time frame to preform the hand selection. I’m sure this would quickly end up being a full time job, so it’s of questionable value to the company, but I could see it being popular and profitable.

Not a huge fan of royal tiger’s pricing vs quality but I do appreciate them bringing these guns into the country don’t get me wrong. I don’t personally see the value in destroying the mgs although I’m sure people have their reasons for buying them. That’s a lot of chopped FALs….😢

One of the pictures ( 6:32 ) looked like a bunch of disassembled SKS's without stocks. Were those going to be chopped up for some reason? Have the rules on importing SKS's changed, or did the Ethiopian's lump them in with all the more modern guns and think they needed to be chopped?

They may not be as prevalent as other war-torn African countries, but there's definitely indication that it probably still exists to some degree.

Usually they are included. But they are so badly damaged even the professional shops that charge 2-3k to fix them have a hard time. I know this cause I already have one.

@@Prest0n97 I am my own shop. Grinder go brrr. Tig welder go bzzzzz. Rewelds are fun. ATF demil/deactivation guidelines usually mean if you're saw cutting you have to ditch a chunk. A torch cut needs to displace a certain amount of material.

@@KITDFOHS I have my own milling machine. Been trying to make a welding fixture to reweld it. Found old photos of a fixture from a forum on way back machine. The mg34 is one of the hardest to fix. I don’t see it possible being fixed without a fixture. You need the copper to back the insides so the welds don’t fill in those internal grooves the bolt runs through.

@@DOOM_A-O well. This is a two edged sword. In any developed country all these goodies would have been melted a long time ago. At least in Ethiopia the firearms were preserved for future generations to enjoy.

@@royaltigerimports I guess it depends on your definition of "preserved" :( Wood rotting and cracked, metal rusted and pitted, I don't imagine they ever got the concept of cleaning their guns after shooting them either if they store them like firewood in open sheds either so the bores probably look like sewer pipes. And we get exports out of Europe all the time, countless AK kits, the heyday of ww1 and ww2 bolt actions is long gone but we still get kits and pistols and they are largely in acceptable (worn finish, maybe some pitting in corners at worst like my PM65 kit) to like new shape (like my izzy akm kit). and don't fool yourself, Europe AND Africa destroy tons of guns. Ive seen the giant crates of Makarovs being sent to the smelter in Europe just for the chance to buy some crap from HK if I remember correctly, and Ive seen the giant gun pyramids burnt down in Africa with a huge variety of guns on it.
