Looks a nice newly refurbished site - When we visited Bowness upon Windermere a couple of years ago we noticed the site was closed and being refurbished

Hi there Glyn, we have just subscribed, we are going to Bowness in Windermere campsite later in the year, did you like the campsite and was it easy to get to the lake x Julie and Tony x

Yes you can walk to the lake, the site was nice enough. But part of it is against the public carpark, there's a big fence up. But you can hear people talking and slaming car doors until late at night. So try to get them to pitch you away from the fence, we was against it.

Hi, booked for June, looks a nice site. Approaching from M6 South which route would you recommend Glyn.

I would come off the M6 at junction 36 and follow the A590 towards Barrow. Keep following the A590 until you reach Newby Bridge, then follow the Bowness signs.

Been on this site many time's when it was the caravan club, but when it changed to the camping & caravan club we didn't like it ! Vans cramed in & to mainy out of control kids 😢. But the site now looks very nice now , but just had a quote for us as none members two week's hard standing in August £1000 !!!!😢

That's an outrageous price, to be honest I wouldn't rush back there. You can get nice little cl's for a fraction of the price.
